At first I was hesitant to see Briggs leaving, but now, good-riddance. It is obvious he would rather play for the money then play for winning, IMO.
-
woo! Happy B-Day Talk Bears!
-
okay, sounds good... but after several hours or even a day and that GM hasn't shown up, you should make the pick.
-
what if the gm isn't on? You make the pick? 15 minutes per pick?

Mike Brown is no where near the player he was a couple years ago, and has lost a step or two with all of the injuries. He would be a disaster at FS at this point in his career. And Adam Archuleta has had only one, maybe two good seasons. He had potential to become a top SS when he first came into the league but he is even more injury prone then Brown and right now he would not contribute to this team. If Archuleta gets cut and he agrees to come in as a backup/special teamer, fine by me. But having the two safties as Brown and Archuleta would be a disaster, and benching Manning for someone who really has not done better then him would be stupid. It would only hurt Manning's development. And since Archuleta would not be a viable future replacement for Brown, it would be wisest to get someone to learn for a year or two from the draft. The difference between Worrell and Johnson though is that Worrell is 1000x worse...
-
That was before he had 3 major injuries... And Manning might be unproven, but he still has potential. Archueletta is washed up.
-
Yeah... having two SS safties, especially one who sucks in coverage, is a great plan! D. Manning is better then Archuletta. Archuletta is decent and all, but after injuries and such, he isn't any better then decent.

Yeah, they always gave the HC the GM duties, right? Until Ed died.
-
oops... my bad Eh... he was big enough to play ODL!
-
Urlacher was beastly with Ted Washington and Keith Traylor playing up the middle for those couple of years... Talk about not having to worry about blockers!
-
Daniel Graham has said that he is looking for at least 5 mil a year... no thanks! And Stokely is really not a need, as he is only slightly better then Bradley and Davis, IMO. He puts up great stats because look at who is his QB, and the receivers playing next to him...
-
I really like Brandon Jackson from Nebraska in the 3rd round... Here is his highlight video:
-
I loved how even though they weren't friends or anything even close to that off the field, they both still talked to each other and gave each other advice on the field!

I think Jail would be best for him, and it would only be for 30 days likely so he would not miss any TC really. He deserves to be punished. Maybe going behind bars for a month would help set him straight. Hell, he could probably get his sentence cut down to 20 days. I like Tank, but he really does need to get his act together, and hopefully after the Posey death and possible jail time, he will get it together.

I just want people to stop making JA the bad guy. This had to be done. This is completely different. Welker is younger and a WR, which the Pats needed badly. Also, Welker was not getting traded. Not many teams were offering to sign him since was a RFA. The Pats are probably the only team that would have done this, and they did.

I hate how everyone is bashing Benson's blocking... he showed great improvements last year, and probably could be a better and more physical blocker then Jones. Also, yes we could use Jones for another run for the Super Bowl, but guess what, he wanted his payday and he wanted out of Chicago because he wouldn't get the money he wanted here. So stop making JA look like the bad guy.
-
Nope... and I wouldn't want there to be one anyway... I'd rather keep the money and lock up players like Tommie Harris, Nathan Vasher, Charles Tillman, etc. for a long time. They are all more important to the team.
-
Without Urlacher, Briggs wouldn't be considered the top player he is considered to be now. Now, I am not saying he would suck, because I think he is still a very good player, but if you play with the best, the good become better.
-
We need a big reciever... someone who can take over for Moose in a couple of years. Dwayne Jarrett or Dwayne Bowe would be very good options. We have our slot guy in Rashied Davis, IMO, and Berrian and Bradley are good speed guys.
-
I am a big fan of this deal and it is a win-win for both teams, but I am a big TJ fan. I wish him the best in Ney York and I don't think there is a Bear fan out there that won't miss you. Yes, you did request a trade, but you did it in a mature fashion and did it like a man (unlike someone else *cough*Briggs*cough*). Thomas Jones, we wish you the best!

The is nothing we need in free agency right now. Just a few players for depth would be fine. We can get a good back for depth in the 3rd or 4th rounds. Someone like Brandon Jackson would be great. Maybe Jon Beason in the draft? Or JA did seem very high on Jamar Williams. Maybe a veteran WILL to take the place of Briggs for a year while Williams develops? Maybe JA is targeting in on someone in the top 20 and wants to move up? Levi Brown? Greg Olsen? Dwayne Bowe? Or maybe he is stock piling early first day picks for depth?
-
We all loved TJ... but this was a great trade for us. We move up almost 30 spots in the draft. TJ's value was only that of a 3rd/4th rounder. To move up how far we did it would have costed us a 3rd and 5th. Plus, Jones only had one season left on his contract, and Benson was going to be the starter no matter what-you can't have a 4th overall pick splitting carries in already his 3rd season. And to top that all off... TJ wanted out.
-
I'd say the Giants would be willing to swap their 1st rounder for Briggs...
-
Very good deal. Instead of just getting the third rounder, we move up to practically a first round pick... We could have 3 picks in the 30's depending on what happens with Briggs.
