It seems like this organization has had a player development deficit for quite some time. When has a player come into the organization and played better on the Bears than on a previous team (Akiem Hicks?). Of the recent acquisitions, the only player not to play worse on defense has been Billings. Edmunds, Edwards, Walker, Green, and Jones all seem worse this year. Tonyan has been bad, Davis with the obvious personal issues, but even Patrick has disappointed. Then on the draft side, what player have the Bears developed where you could actually see the progression? Eddie Jackson peaked in year 2, got hurt and was never the same. He has shied away from contact ever since that ankle injury. Jaylon Johnson has been fairly consistent since his rookie year, but the fact that he doesn't have an extension yet is somewhat alarming if the Bears do in fact think he is a CB1. Gordon was terrible his rookie year and hasn't played this year. Brisker looked better his rookie year, he looks much slower, missing tackles, and not playing that good in coverage in the first 4 weeks. Sanborn looked better his rookie year, still plays with hustle but is missing a ton of tackles. Stevenson and Smith, as rookie corners are playing ok, a couple of flash plays, but it's hard to see any true development. Still too early on them. How about Dexter and Pickens? I think Pickens got half a sack and that would be the first pressure for either of them, a quarter of the way thru the season. The Bears need a lot more out of these two. On offense, we obviously know about Fields, but Herbert is about the same, Kmet has been like Johnson, Mooney still seems a little off since the injury last year. Whitehair is getting worse with age, Braxton Jones was playing well before injury and may be the highlight of the Bears development. Wright is ok, but is a top 11 pick, so you would expect him to be at least good if not inconsistent. Jenkins can't stay healthy, and who knows what they do with him after 2024. He has only played in 19 games out of 37 possible games, he will miss his 19th game on Thursday, meaning he has only be available for 50% of the games. That is just way too low for a contract extension. So for new acquisitions, maybe Moore is the only player on track for a better season statistically than he had last year. Of the rookies, maybe Roschon is the only one playing better than his draft status, and from the Bears from last season, maybe Braxton Jones was it before getting hurt (neck injury). Who am I missing? Just seems like an underwhelming and disappointing group, pointing to bad coaching all around. This does not even count Claypool who looks to be a pending cut or trade candidate. How about Leatherwood? Never improved. Something is in the water at Halas Hall and it is not good. Did they import Flint specials?

You have to pound the over until the Bears defense shows they can stop anyone. The expected score is 25-19 Commanders, now at 44.5 and +6.5. So 25.5 to 19 is the updated expected score. The only concern is Washington's offense is worse than Denver's and Denver's offense only scored 24. So something like 24-17 to 24-20 seems like the expected outcome.

Fields has raised his DVOA to -31.1%, which is pretty incredible considering where it was at. He is no longer last in the NFL. That distinction belongs to Daniel Jones, followed by Bryce Young, Sam Howell, and Desmond Ridder. One or two more decent games and he will be in the middle of the pack and out of the QB cellar.

Flus has to go, he has lost the locker room. Just look at his press conferences, he is either lying or clueless, or both.

So after limited targets, they finally got Moore going. He now has 301 receiving yards (14th) and is on pace for 81 receptions, 1,279 yards and 9 TDs. This includes a game where Fields only passed for 99 yards. 15 of his 19 receptions have gone for 1st downs. He is trending in the right direction, which is nice to see considering the season.

It's funny how much crap this guy takes because he is not Kelce or Kittle in their prime. Sure he is probably not a true top 5 TE, but he is constantly in the top 10 in most categories, yet it seems like people treat him like a dud. Here is where Kmet is at after 4 weeks for TEs: 5th in receptions 5th in yards T-2nd TDs T-2nd 1st Downs Since the start of 2021, Kmet is 11th in receptions, 10th in yards, T-9th in TDs, and 12th in 1st Downs. Thoughts?

I thought it was a little bit of both. Fields was at least making the right decisions and actually throwing the ball. All the former QBs turned YouTube Content Creators were praising him, so I will take their word for it. The fumble was inexcusable because he could've just tucked it and taken the sack instead of trying to throw it with a guy in his face. Interesting that there was no penalty on the play as the defender tackled him around the neck. If Fields is not such a strong dude and just flails back like every other QB in the league, it's probably a penalty. Here are two screenshots. Defender cannot tackle around the neck or head area, and can't launch themselves into the QB......?

The best scenario was Fields balls out and plays well above average and shows that he is a franchise QB, so the Bears can use or trade picks early in the first round next year for a king's ransom. They could keep one and trade one, and gain multiple firsts again. The next best scenario is Fields plays decent enough to keep his trade value high, and the Bears can flip him for a 2nd or a 3rd, draft Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. and use extra draft capital to shore up the trenches. The worst case scenario is that Fields plays bad, but the Bears somehow win a few games, which would hurt their draft position and Fields trade value. There are a few others in between, but those are sort of the extremes and the middle.

Fields had his best passing game as a pro: 28-35, 80%, 335 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT, QB Rating 132.7 He now has 79-123, 64.2%, 861 yds, 7 TD, 5 INT, QB Rating 86.8 on the season, that puts him on pace for 3,659 yds, 30 TDs, and 21 INTs. This week's QBR - 69.7 (the fumble and INT dropped him 20 pts). After 3 weeks under 25, this was a great improvement. The fumble sucked, but honestly, if you watch the play, they allow the left Edge to go in untouched straight at Fields who is turning into him. Terrible play design, and that is not the first time that happened this season. On the INT, him and Kmet were on two different plays, Fields thought he would continue his route across the field and Kmet thought he was supposed to square up the defender at that point on the field. That game bumped his season QBR to 36.0, which gets him out of last and he is now in front of Bryce Young (24.9), Zach Wilson (26.8), Ryan Tannehill (28.2), Desmond Ridder (29.1), Kenny Pickett (29.3), and Joe Burrow (33.6). He needs to string together some above average passing games.

Not if they get Caleb Williams. That changes a lot.

This didn't age well, lol. He played great when there was nothing on the line. Once it was crunch time he had a fumble for a defensive TD, a intentional grounding with under a minute remaining, and then threw the dagger INT to lose it. He played his best game as a passer, but even in the 2 minute drill, he still does everything too slow. If they lose on Thursday night, you may see Bagent on the following Sunday.

1-3 feels so much different than 0-4, even though it's only one game. If they don't fire SOMEONE after TNF, just fold the franchise, sell the team, or move it to Gary.

Bears have the 1st and 2nd pick in the 2024 NFL draft, with both CHI and CAR at 0-4. MIN, DEN, and currently CIN sit at 1-3.

TNF coming up, it's going to be comical. This team may be worse than the 0-16 Lions.

Justin is too slow for hurry up. Every snap was taking 10 seconds extra. His internal clock is too slow, there was zero urgency. Epic failure by Getsy, Flus, the entire defense, and Fields. For Fields, in crunch time, you lost a fumble for a defensive score, got called for intentional grounding which not only backed you up, but cost you your last timeout, then you throw an INT when everything is on the line. That is choking. Getsy playing conservative and running Herbert on back to back plays. Stop with the back to back plays (like the screens). Flus using a timeout before going for it on 4th down. Just go for it, don't waste a timeout you idiot!

300-yard passer with 4 TDs, 0 INTs, a 100-yard rusher, and a 100-yard receiver, and you lose?

If the Bears lose, you have to fire everyone, there is no way you can lose this game up 28-7 with 4 mins left in the 3rd quarter.

There it is, tie game, Getsy stupid play calling, the Edge is going unblocked at Fields back, while call that type of play, it has literally gotten Fields killed every game.

WOW, 4 TDs, 23-24, 285 yds, 4 TDs, but no longer a perfect passer rating lol, down to 155.7. I don't know how that is possible. Honestly, this game could not be going any better on offense with 4 mins left in the 3rd quarter, Bears up to 28-7.
