An odd trend to Pace's picks over the last 3 years only 4 picks west of Chicago and only one technically "West" out of 20 picks: (Whitehair) Kansas State, (Hall) Northern Iowa, (Fabuluje) Texas Christian, and (Grasu) Oregon Is this a scout thing?

I don't know how much the draft changed my opinion until I see how many of these players make an impact this year.

and our picks actually helped others get better players at lower picks. If you look at our original picks and do a little revisionist draft, it is hard to see how this was the best draft outcome.

and counter to his first two drafts, either Pace is a genius and everyone else is wrong, or he is no longer the GM in 2018. Based on the skill added to CLE, SF, and JAX, we are probably the worst team on paper right now. That doesn't mean anything until September but man it is tough right now.

I am OK with it, but with the info on these players today, it is hard to outsmart others. Looks like a boom or bust draft. Swinging for the fences. Might as well, it's not like we can get much worse.

With the No. 147 pick, the #Bears draft OL Jordan Morgan from D-II Kutztown. They coached him at the Senior Bowl. Draft trend, mainly small schools and sleeper picks. We will see how it works out.. It really feels like Pace tried to outsmart everyone else with some questionable trades and sleeper picks. We will see how these all turn out. Not what I expected.

Yeah, I don't know why people are hating on Trubisky, it is not his fault that Pace traded up for him. He is the highest drafted QB since 1951 for the Bears (Bob Williams) and tied for the highest all-time with Williams and some guy named Sid Luckman.

We have 4th (117), 4th (119), 5th (147), 6th (197) left Scratch that, we now only have 119 and 147 left after trading up for Eddie Jackson.

Done, I am all in, Shaheen could be the steal of the draft and if Trubisky becomes our franchise QB, we will look back on this draft as the turning point for our franchise.

At best we drafted our franchise QB for the next 15 years while only giving up some 3rd's and a 4th (which we got back later) and a huge RZ target who is going to give defenses some serious matchup problems.

Interesting combine numbers, I did not know Shaheen led all TE's for the bench press. TE's 3, 4 , and 5 picked: #3 - Njoku, 6-4, 246 lbs, 4.64 40, 21 reps, 6.97 cone, 4.34 shuttle, 37.5 vert, 133 broad #4 - Everett, 6-3, 239 lbs, 4.62 40, 22 reps, 6.99 cone, 4.33 shuttle, 37.5 vert, 125 broad #5 - Shaheen, 6-6, 278 lbs, 4.79 40, 24 reps, 7.09 cone, 4.38 shuttle, 32.5 vert, 121 broad So Shaheen ran slightly slower (but has 30-40 lbs on the others), had the most bp reps, had a comparable 3-cone and shuttle. His vertical was better than Howard's and his broad was the same. I stand corrected. This was actually a decent pick, and if he can perform near his athletic capability, Trubisky is going to have a huge RZ target.

I would love someone like Antonio Garcia from Troy (OT), or one of the top WR's remaining. If Gonzalez is still on the board with our 2nd 4th rounder, go for it, draft Gonzalez and fill a need. He would easily be an upgrade over Barth.

Combine the picks trade down. That is what Pace seems best at.

If you use the same chart for our trade back with Arizona, we win that trade as well and gain the equivalent of Pick 139. What makes me sick is the 49ers just flipped our 3rd for a 2nd next year. So for doing absolutely nothing, they now have an extra 2nd and 3rd next year.
