  1. I think we also just broke the team record for penalties and penalty yards in one game.
  2. Thank god they missed that extra point, because now we are only averaging 39.5 pts against per game instead of 40.
  3. 8 point game we and we get the ball first. Our defense has only allowed 108 yards, so they have not played that bad. Until the pick-6, our offense and Cutler were near perfect.
  4. Wow! Jared Allen deflects pass and then intercepts it?
  5. Best play of the game, punt, make them fumble, then recover.
  6. wtf? A Pick-6 and he hurts his throwing shoulder attempting to tackle.
  7. Yeah, but both were close plays, especially Fuller's, he was just a split second too early.
  8. Cutler 8-8, 120 yds, 1 TD, 158.3 QB Rating, and now has 2 rushes for 14 yards.
  9. Wow that was an awesome drive. Cutler and Langford, then a nice pass to Bennett.
  10. Refs missed a head shot on Cutler and now a face mask, wtf.
  11. Jay Cutler running some option plays very effectively.
  12. Woo Hoo, Cutler to Bellamy for 6 after Cutler extends a play with a great dish to Forte. Offense and Cutler looked really good on that drive. Cutler overall looks more comfortable and in command of the offense. Cutler 6-6, 90 yds, 1 TD, 158.3 QB Rating
  13. On the Bears first drive, O-Line not too solid, though it was nice to see Miller get a few receptions. Cutler didn't look bad or jumpy. On defense, we are getting some pressure, so it was to force a punt on their first offensive possession.
  14. Wow great start, we kickoff, and they take it to the house.
  15. Yeah, I think the time off doing nothing didn't help.
  16. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...-demontre-hurst Surprising that we would go down to only 4 Safeties: Rolle, Amos, Vereen, and Jones-Quartey
  17. No way, the Achilles and hamstring are not even on the same side of the leg
  18. Are the Bears who we thought they were? We should have a pretty good indication on what type of team we are after Sunday. If we win, then we are definitely pointing in the right direction; if we lose, we are almost destined for an 0-3 start and will have a tough hole to get out of. Week 1 Top PFF Performers: ILB Shea McClellin (+2.5) LT Jermon Bushrod (+2.3) WR Alshon Jeffery (+2.1) TE Martellus Bennett (+1.9) FS Adrian Amos (+0.9)

Somehow ESPN has them ranked as #6 in their Power Rankings, which to me is laughable. I see this as a very winnable game, more so than Week 1 against GB. Ellington is out, and they really have no running game. None of their WRs or TEs are elite, so we shouldn't have to shade coverage. Their defense is pretty good, but Brees had a bunch of opportunities in the passing game with Ingram getting a ton of looks out of the backfield. I see a busy day for Forte out of the backfield. Our WR's should be much better in Week 2 after another week to heal and get up to speed with the offense. Bears 27 - Cards 17
  20. I put some replies in blue in your quotes. Overall, you can see the influence of the coaching staff on the team, and it is positive. Out of all the things I saw, I was actually most disappointed in the pass rush. I didn't see any pressures from McPhee, Allen, Houston, or Young all game which put a lot of pressure on the secondary. Rodgers had a lot of time to make plays.
  21. I think we will be highly competitive against GB on Thanksgiving and I see that as a winnable game. We were only 1 or 2 plays from winning this week. For Seattle, they did not look good against STL and if Chancellor is still out, I think we have a fighting chance.
  22. Here is a good depiction of the play from behind the QB. At pre-snap Matthews is over the LT, and breaks immediately on the snap to cover Bennett. The crazy part is he left Wilson wide open on the left, which would've went for a huge gain. https://twitter.com/kfishbain/status/643793463310426117
  23. If you watch the play, Wilson was WIDE open in the middle, but it was amazing how fast Matthews got over there. What it seems like the Bears are doing is calling plays away from the pressure, which is great, but it almost seemed like Cutler was baited into that throw. If he pumped faked and threw to Wilson, that is a 20+ yard gain. Even though he threw that one, he didn't have any fumbles (almost one), had some good scrambles, and ran the offense efficiently. Also, the receivers had several drops, which made his stats look a lot worse.
  24. Offense: Plays from scrimmage - 71 (3rd) Yards - 402 (5th) Yards/Play - 5.7 (6th) 1st/G - 25 (2nd) 3rd Down Made - 11 (1st) 3rd Down % - 65% (1st) 4th Down Made - 2 (1st) TOP - 31:52 (10th) Rush Att - 33 (5th) Rushing Yards - 189 (1st) YPC - 5.7 (1st) Defense: Yards - 322 (6th) So by the numbers, it really wasn't a bad game. The goal line turnover on downs was the turning point for me. The Packers just had a 10 minute drive for a TD, and then we drive down 78 yards in 3 minutes looking to tie the game and we don't score. We were so good on the ground that it is hard to believe we would pass 3 consecutive times from the 2. For next game, we need some more pressure by our front-7, better coverage on kicks, and some better play from our receivers. We dropped a bunch of passes.
