Couple positives from the game
Wale beat the Tackle and the RB on one of those plays that was silly. They looked like cones; go left past the tackle, then right past the RB, then smash QB. Also, for all the WRs, they can only get better as the season goes on. Hester and Bennett may be legit 1-2's by the end of the year. Just for reference, 4 out of the last 10 SB winners lost their first game of the season, but only 2 lost their last game of the season. Much better to be hot at the end of the year than the beginning.

Hank Baskett
That is true, I just thought it was funny because he doesn't even seem like a #4 WR let alone someone we would want.

Hank Baskett
Saw this nugget in a Westbrook article: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Ea...?urn=nfl,189901 Is this guy really that good, and would he actually be an upgrade for us?

Great News
That would be an interesting girls name.

Congrats! At least you won't lose any sleep during the season.

Looking ahead to Pittsburgh
We need to generate some turnovers.

Smith deserves majority of blame for loss
This loss is not on Lovie. The Bears made some nice adjustments and had a winnable game with 5 turnovers. However, you have to believe he is on the hot-seat if we have a sub .500 season.

Looking ahead to Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh too is without their defensive leader, and he may be more important to them than Urlacher is to us, and that is saying a lot. They had absolutely no running game (36 rushing yards) vs TEN and their O-Line looked almost as bad as ours. Big Ben was sacked 4 times and threw 2 picks. He also had a couple of "near" picks but got lucky. I think this will be another close game, and definitely winnable. The early line has the Steelers favored by 3. One concern is that they have had a couple extra days to rest, recover, and prepare.

Urlacher out for Season..
Also, a cast can help a fracture so the limb doesn't bend, but in a dislocation, it is at the joint, so normally you can't put pressure on it. So he literally would not be able to push off anything with that arm or his ulna or radius might pop out of his skin.

Noots' Notes Game 1: 21-15 Loss at GB
Surprisingly only one of Cutler's INTs resulted in pts for the Packers.
-
Well, we knew Cutler....
Also, just think of the situation. You are playing in GB on national tv in the first game of the season in the biggest rivalry in the NFL, vs a new 3-4 defense with little tape to study. You also have a young group of receivers, a new O-Line, with the added pressure of the trade. Then add that we had no running game (Forte 2.2 yds per carry) and you are playing against some of the best corners in the game. Then your coaches burn all your timeouts over silly plays and your long snapper is giving the ball to your opponent. Then to put icing on the cake, your defensive leader is out and it is all on you. Looking at that, it was amazing he did what he did given all that pressure. That was 2 weeks after dealing with the preseason game in Denver too.

Urlacher out for Season..
There are some dislocations that are actually worse than breaks. A bunch of time in a cast, then a few weeks recovery.
-
Hester
I thought he looked great. He had a nice one on one move against Woodson that was sweet. I am just wondering if it would be better if he just stopped doing returns altogether.
-
Urlacher out for Season..
I wonder if Briggs stays at MLB and Urlacher moves to the outside when he comes back?
-
"Franchise" apparently means "excuses"
Looking at some of those replays, Orton probably has 2 picks and about 100 yards passing.
-
It was coaching!
I just think that is something you never do on your own half of the field (or when you are winning for that matter).
-
Anyone for looking at either Zach Thomas or derrick Brooks?
I wouldn't be surprised if we did.

Urlacher out for Season..
The end of the Urlacher era is coming quicker than I thought.

Urlacher Dislocated His Wrist
Of all the players we lose on D.
-
Well, we knew Cutler....
I just can't believe we played that bad and it took a 50 yard TD to beat us.
-
I'm seen enough of Vasher
Wow, that is ridiculous. You have to know the situation. Getting 5 yards there does nothing. Really disappointing. That would've been a huge win.
-
The optomistic thread
Before that 51 yard TD, the Defense had only allowed 175 yards against GB, which was great. 4 sacks, a Safety, and GB was only 4-14 on 3rd Downs. With all those turnovers, the Bears still controlled the clock. However, you can't expect to win when you have that many turnovers.
-
I'm seen enough of Vasher
There is no way a long snapper has that much authority to do that. Like the announcers said, it would only be a 5 yard penalty. It just made no sense.
-
Well, we knew Cutler....
That was just an ugly game overall. The short snap on 4th and 11 on your own 30? Are you serious? That was the game changing play right there. Also, it didn't help to have Urlacher out on that last drive.
-
I'm seen enough of Vasher
Yeah, that was a horrible defensive call. They were not in field goal range, so a first down there was not as big of a deal compared to a long play like the one they gave up.
