I still think it is personnel. Roschon is clearly a better fit for whatever this offense is. Swift just doesn't see the cutback lanes and has dropped a few passes. Roschon moves the pile and runs vertically. He is also good at pass pro. There is no reason it shouldn't be Roschon and Herbert as the top two rushers. I do not care about contract status. The best players need to get the snaps. Right now I see too much Swift and Everett.
Swift 37-68 rushing, 1.84 yards per carry
Everett 3 receptions - 0 yards
Roschon 8-30, 4-32 receiving
I am looking up some numbers now, but I believe Swift is close to the record for lowest total yards with over 35 carries ever, outside of QBs taking a knee at the end of game.
After the one drop, Odunze played much better.
This was a coaching loss, just like Houston's game. Terrible time management, time out usage, challenges, etc. Eberflus is literally a turd as an HC, and Waldron is a hot pile of dung as an OC.
Puka on IR, Kupp going to be limited at best if he doesn't miss the game. Rams playing in the late slot on Sunday, then having to travel from LA to CHI. So Bears are going to have a rest edge.
Rams are one of the worst teams in the NFL, especially with the injuries. The Bears lost against the Colts, but the Colts didn't win the game.
At 1-2, this becomes an early must win as falling to 1-3 starts makes a huge hole to dig out of so early in the season.
I feel like the Bears will rebound and play much better with home cooking. Bears 27-13.
A much better week for Williams. He has his first 300-yd game in his 3rd career game. Fields has one in his entire career at 335 yds. Trubisky's high was 355, so Williams eclipsed the last two highly drafted QBs for the Bears.
Swift has to be relegated to the 3rd Down back, I could care less what he signed for. Roschon and Herbert are much better and Roschon is looking like a complete back.
Unbelievable Stats when you are losing 21-9:
First Downs: Bears 24 - 14
Third Downs: Bears 9-21, Colts 3-11
Total Yards: Bears 389-293
Time of Possession: Bears 34:33, Colts 22:58
Colts only completed 10 passes
Wiliiams 30-47, 335 yds, 1 TD, and 2 INT
Odunze 6-120-1
Kmet 9-91
Moore-8-78
and Roschon is 8-30 rushing and 3-26 receiving. He is clearly better than Swift and it is not even close.
Now down to 1 Timeout and they need 2 TDs in 5 minutes. They would have to score with at least 2:40 left to get the ball back with over a minute left and no timeouts.
It is literally counter to every traditional coaching method. You cannot put a secondary blocker on an Edge defender on play action because they can't hold a block that long. You can chip with them, but they have to be blocked by OTs.
One bad one, other hit Odunze in the hands. So just like with Fields, not all of them were on him. One on Williams, one on Odunze.
Coaching has been terrible. Defense needs to adjust and stop these off tackle runs.
