freakin idiot play calling. Why would you have Devin Hester in on goal line situations, ever?? If Jeffery was in on that drive it would have been a touchdown. Stop playing Hester at WR!

This offense is horrendous right now. It needs to get fixed or we're losing this game. Cutler hasn't even hit 100 yards yet. He's been terrible.

Of course they do. Lovie always has the defense soften their coverage when the clock's running down, and it almost never works.

Cutler has a bloody right thumb.. That can't be good. Praying it's nothing but I'm worried as shit.

Tice should be getting the brunt of the blame. I didn't much care for whatever kind of play calling that was last Thursday. But at the same time, you have to also realize that this is a learning experience for him as well. Tice has never been a play caller before. I think he'll adjust, and with the help of Bates, this offense will be putting up a ton of points in no time. I've never been much of a Trent Dilfer fan, but even he called Tice out for what Dilfer said was, "Garbage play calling" in last Thursday's game. He certainly didn't do Jay or that offensive line any favors. That was an identical plan to what Mike Martz was running prior to the interventions that made him change in 2010 and 2011.

Bears 30-17 Expect to see a lot of running early, a change up from last week. I believe Tice will make it a priority to get the run game going. Without Forte, presumably, Bush is going to get the chance to carry the load. I think he goes over 100 yards and Cutler might not get sacked once. Brandon Marshall dominates as usual, Cutler throws a few TD's, and the defense plays well in 1st half, then Lovie starts playing prevent defense and the Rams put up some points late in the 2nd half.

This is hilarious. Apparently DJ Moore didn't get the memo because he just did the exact same thing Lovie told him not to do, again. Lol.

There's never been a per-requisite to winning a championship that you have to like your quarterback. Lots of teams have won Super Bowls with quarterback's that were regarded as being tough to get along with. It's probably a good thing that you respect him, but you don't have to like him. When the respect starts to dwindle is when problems start to arise, and that's not good. It's important for Jay not to lose the locker room, because if he does, we'll be talking about who the next coach is and which players we're targeting in the top 10 of the 2013 NFL Draft.

If the Bears don't win this Sunday against the Rams, this city will be in widespread panic. I'm not quite sure what the Rams are yet. They've looked good in the first two games. When Bradford isn't laying on his ass he's actually a pretty decent quarterback. They don't really have a lot of throwing options, but Danny Amendola is essentially a Wes Welker clone. If you get behind on this team and they start playing freely, you could end up in trouble.

Chris Spencer did a more than admirable job last year at RG. Without a doubt, he was right there with Garza as being the teams best offensive lineman, performance wise last year. Solid in the run game, only gave up one sack in 16 games last year.. Even as a guard, that's tough to do. He really fell off the map this year when he made the switch to the left side. All of a sudden he couldn't get out of his own way. I don't know what his issue was.

How about right after the game? That would have been the best time.

Spencer was our best lineman last year when he was at RG. Some guys just can't adjust to different sides. If Webb has another game like Thursday, I'd give serious consideration to Lance Louis. He's the only nasty/physical lineman on the team. Williams is bad, and so is Jonathon Scott. I don't know what else they can really do if they choose to go with someone other than Webb.

Cutler picked on Webb because he knew he was the only lineman that wouldn't fight back. I can't blame him for what he did (I would have done much worse), but you still can't touch a lineman. I'm glad Webb responded the way he did; you'd wish Jay would say the same thing.

If he honestly believes Cutler was talking crap to the defense he's out of his damn fool mind. All Jay ever did was state a fact. And that being, if you're going to play press coverage on our receivers, you're probably going to get beat. Well guess what? The Packers didn't play that much press coverage. It was mostly bracket coverage on Marshall and man-zone schemes.

He needed to come out and say he was bad during the press conference. Instead he sorta shoved the blame towards everybody else and didn't seem to want to be accountable for his own pathetic play. That's not what you want to see out of your supposed leader. The last thing this team needs is for everybody to start turning on Cutler.

The Rams have two really good corners though in Jenkins and Finnegan. They are going to give Cutler fits as well. Their defense is much improved from last year. Keep in mind the Packers were the worst pass defense in the history of the NFL. They set records last year for their ineptitude. So it's not like you can call them a good defense. They are just very opportunistic.

Still, Jay has been in the league long enough to be able to put guys in optimum position to make plays. He knows how to read defenses pre-snap, he has the power to adjust on the fly. Teams like the Falcons have now gone to a predominantly up-tempo/no-huddle offense, and so far, they've looked unstoppable since the beginning of the pre-season. It's about the change of pace and keeping the defense on their heels instead of allowing them to dictate exactly what they want to be able to do. Now that Cutler has the ability to audible, a no huddle offense should have already been installed yesterday.

I'm glad you brought up Manning because it leads me right into what's missing from this offense, and that being a no huddle. What allows Peyton to do what he does is that no huddle, being able to use the extra seconds on the play clock to survey the defense and bait them into showing blitzes with hard counts. Did anyone watch the game against the Steelers last week? There was a point in that game where the Broncos were in the redzone, looking to take control of the game with a late touchdown, and Manning used the no huddle and the hard count again and again to completely neutralize Troy Palimalu's attempt at a blitz. With that extra time on the play clock, Manning was able to get the play he wanted and take advantage of the matchups that were there to exploit. The result of the drive ended in a touchdown. That's just an example of how the no huddle can be used. It's also a way to not only keep defensive players on the field, but also keep them in a base defense. It completely dumbs down everything they can run because they don't have the time to call a play. It wears them out along the way. I have no idea why this has not been installed yet for this offense. Last time I can remember seeing it was in the Ron Turner days. It's a MUST, especially with this line. It keeps everything simple, and simple is good.

You're missing the point. When other top tier quarterbacks have bad games, they don't often look the way Jay Cutler looked last night. When Jay is bad, he's just gone. 40% completion rate? 5.8 QBR? Come on.

Here's the problem with Jay Cutler.. When he gets sacked early and often, he mentally checks out of the game. When Matt Stafford threw 3 interceptions in the 1st half against the Rams last week did he mope around and check out of the game? No. He went on to throw for 355 yards and had a game winning touchdown drive to win the game. Aaron Rodgers at one point during this game had been sacked 5 times in the first half while Cutler was sacked 3 times. The difference? Rodgers remained confident. He didn't get happy feet and he didn't start throwing off his back foot on every pass, he didn't panic. All that confidence coming into the game was shot to hell after the 2nd offensive series when he couldn't complete a pass down field.

The thread title is my answer here. It's way too early to be making any kind of declarations. It's week 2 of the season. Week 2 of last year it was a similar story. I can promise you this offense will not be held to 168 yards of total offense in every game the rest of the way. We will get things turned around and be one of the top scoring offenses in the NFL this year.

I hate the fact that he's right, because I think Woodson is a POS, but sooner or later, the interceptions need to stop. There is no defending Jay Cutler for his play against the Packers. It's been atrocious. I don't know why Woodson got pissed after he deliberately fell trying to take out Cutler's knee. If I were Cutler I would have lifted him off the damn floor and body slammed him to the floor. What a freakin D-Bag.
