  1. I'm talking about Kellen Davis, not Fred Davis.
  2. Moss would be a good 4th receiver, ego aside. He's not a #1 anymore and an iffy #2. Unless I'm completely wrong and he still has the speed and quickness that made him so great in 07 and before that, Randy would be just another guy you can throw out there on passing downs to mix things up and let him go deep.
  3. Maybe. I don't have any problem with that. But it would be interesting to see a dual TE set that the Bears can run out there ala NE's Gronkowski and Hernandez. Davis and Finley would be a pretty potent combo and Tice was a former TE himself. I could see him getting all giddy at building his offense through the TE's. Just a thought.
  4. I can't even imagine losing your wife. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.
  5. They're still arresting people for Marijuana? Haha. It could be worse..
  6. Yeah I was just going to say, Mike Williams all over again. He's 2nd round material now.
  7. The chances are slim because the way his franchise tag works is Houston would have to pay him over 21 million just for the 2012 season alone. Because Williams is now a LB and his current cap number is 18 million, Houston can't offer him the average of the top 5 paid LB for the 2012 season. Since his cap number is above $10 million, franchising him means the Texans must guarantee him 120 percent of his current salary next season. It's the way the rule works; either the average of the top five salaries or 120 percent of the players salary, whichever is greater. He will almost surely hit the open market. Doesn't mean he can't or won't re-sign long term with Houston though.
  8. Bowe will get franchised more than likely by Kansas City, unless they decide to use it on Carr. After the pipe dreams in Mario Williams and Carl Nicks my #1 free agent would be Dwayne Bowe. 1- Bowe 2- Colston 3- Jackson 4- Finley 5- Steve Johnson 6- Eddie Royal 7- Manningham That sounds about right.
  9. I think it's a safer bet this time around because you already have a quarterback and a QB coach that's familiar with him. I'd imagine they will run alot of similar plays that they ran in Denver to get Cutler more comfortable. If he can stay healthy, I would expect Eddie Royal to get back to being a fringe pro bowl type of player again assuming we add a true #1 receiver along with him.
  10. Garcon is pretty much Johnny Knox. Both are fast speedy receivers that can't catch the football very well. Mario Williams should be the obvious #1 target in FA when he becomes available. The Bears will have the money to spend. It's just a matter of how Emery plans to build this team. I want atleast one established veteran WR in FA and another one or two through the draft.
  11. I like Eddie Royal. I definitely know we could get him for cheap. When Bates and Cutler were in Denver, that was the year he went off for 90 catches. He'll go back to being a beast again. Also could take the place of Johny Knox on special teams backup to Hester. Colston would be my #1 guy to go after in free agency after Mario Williams and Carl Nicks if he's available. I'd then sign Royal for cheap and draft Kendall Wright with the 19th pick to complete our WR core of Colston, Wright, Bennett, Royal. If we can't get Colston I'd try my hardest to steal Finley away from GB.
  12. I don't know what number to believe when looking at what our cap space will be like this season. I've seen 24 million and 50 million. I've seen the breakdown of the latter and it's hard to dispute.
  13. I would take a dead corpse over Frank Omiyale any day..
  14. He had a serious neck injury, and you kind of sorta need to have a good neck to be able to play football. That's the only thing that worries me with him, and I'm sure that's why the Chargers released him to begin with.
  15. They were contenders this season with a healthy Cutler and after getting into the NFC Championship game last year. If they hit a homerun this offseason with the draft and FA there is no telling how good this club can be. But it has to happen within 1-2 years before the inevitable decline of some of our players on defense start to come into affect. We will need a few years of drafting to solve that issue.
  16. Yeah that's what I'm saying. The QB coach is essentially the passing coordinator.
  17. Tice will be the one calling the plays but Bates will be in charge of designing the offense around Cutler from the passing standpoint. He is essentially an offensive consultant.
  18. I just pray he's able to get his quality of life back. If he comes back to football, I wish him well but I wouldn't expect much. Hits like that will have a lingering impact on him for a while I think.
  19. Generally its the tackles that go in the first round. Guards and centers are usually positions that go later in the draft.
  20. Why are you bringing up something that has nothing to do with anything? Nobody here has said anything about jersey changes reflecting record. I frankly could care less if they did or didn't make changes, why do you think we are even talking about it? Probably has something to do with the topic... Gee Idk.. I guess because the jerseys back in the 90's sucked ass and now they are actually pretty good looking? My doctor recommends I stay away from this thread.
  21. I don't know how healthy that knee is. He's had troubles with injuries in the past. I'm not sure I do that deal. You strengthen one part of your team but weaken the other. What's the advantage? I would have to know how healthy he is before I put all my eggs in one basket for him.
  22. Well Michael Floyd, I like the idea of you playing for the Bears too.
  23. Eh. They really aren't that close by comparison. They don't have to adopt the exact same thing, I just wanted to find a good change up in uniforms that represented itself well in the changes that were made. As I mentioned before, a little more white in the navy unis could do well even if they kept a similar scheme to them. I don't really care for the 3 stripes thing all that much.
  24. whhaaa? who said anything about turning them into the Broncos? The only resemblance the two teams have together is they both share the same colors. Doesn't mean they can't change up their design a little bit because of it. I hate the tradition crap, but so be it if there are people that feel that way.
