  1. That's one way of viewing it. Another way would be that because of that security, a loss isn't going to make or break his tenure with the Bears. It's not like another loss all of a sudden means he's out as head coach. Although I wouldn't mind it . I do think Lovie will push to have Martz resigned but it's not going to be an ultimatum sort of deal where its either him or me. That would be pretty ballsy of Lovie to do something like that and frankly I don't think he has it in him to force the hand of his GM. I'm not a fan of having Tice come in to be the OC. Cutler has already let it be known he'd like Martz back and I think that will play a role in his resigning but ultimately it comes down to whether or not Angelo offers Martz that pay raise he believes he's worth. If I had to guess I'd say he doesn't and I'm not even sure if Martz wants to come back. He may explore other coaching venues whether it be in the NFL or college. He comes off as the type of guy who likes to be wanted. I'm not sure he's got that here in Chicago because like you said, it was Lovie not Angelo that wanted him here to begin with.
  2. Flynn is good because of the talent around him but also because of the coaches. After watching this kid carve up New England last year, he reminded me of Aaron Rodgers.. mannerisms and all were nearly identical to Rodgers.
  3. I have yet to see a mock draft from a credible site that has either one slipping past 16th. There are way too many bad teams ahead of us that need WR talent for them to pass up on either Floyd or Jeffery. With Barkley going back to college that doesn't help. We will need to trade up to get Floyd. Jeffery may slip if his 40 time is not very good but I'm not sold on him like I am with the other two.
  4. General Managers and Owners look at the bigger picture and have authority over the Head Coach. You're not telling them to go out and tank games, you are putting lesser talented players on the field to simply "Get a look". I don't get what part of this you guys don't understand. Teams do this from time to time when it's the last week of the season with nothing to play for and you've got some banged up superstar players. You take them out and put in their subs to see what you've got for next year.
  5. But they could have made the excuse that they were evaluating some of the young guys. They could have started Enderle, put Decico in, all the scrubs.. Which of course we didn't do because our dumb ass coach thinks a win would end the season "on a good note". My ass.
  6. Wow this pisses me off even more. If we would have lost we would have got the 11th pick! 11th now to 19th thanks to these losers. Unbelievable. Say goodbye to Michael Floyd or any of the high end players in this draft. The Bears ALWAYS find a way to screw things up.
  7. I felt like crying when I saw Major Wright thrust himself into the body of Urlacher, only to see his facial expression as he grabbed at his knee in significant, noticeable pain.
  8. Floyd and Jeffery will both be gone if we are picking past 16th which we will be. I'd gladly give someone a 3rd rounder and our 1st to move up a couple slots and get a primetime WR.
  9. This is as mad as I've been in a while about a Bears game. Freaking pisses me off to no end. They can't win a meaningful game when Cutler went down but they find a way to win a game that does nothing other than hurt the team in the long run while doing nothing to help them short term.
  10. Well now I'm all in on trading up. Probably not for Blackmon but certainly for Floyd or Jeffery. We hosed up our draft position so now do us right JA and trade one of our 3rds to move up a couple spots to get that WR. If we end up losing out on one of those guys because the Bears won this game against the Vikings I'm going to be pissed.
  11. 20th pick in the draft here we come. freak YOU BEARS!
  12. Yep. Minnesota intentionally trying to lose this game. Why can't anything ever go right for the Bears?
  13. freakin Major Wright. POS getting Urlacher injured. He's done for next year..
  14. Wow.. We're actually going to win this game.. Even in victory the Bears still find ways to screw things up. Unbelievable.
  15. Hester looks awful as a returner now.
  16. Crap, Tillman with a pick 6.. Bears leading 14-10.. Ugh.
  17. The race for the 13th pick is about underway!!
  18. The Bears will find a way to screw it up and win next week. We'll end up with #20 and then draft a long snapper.
  19. It's funny to think about but what offensive coordinator have we ever liked in the past 20 years?? Anyone?
  20. Martz won't be back on account the Bears won't offer him the pay raise he thinks he deserves. He was not very happy when they gave Tice a raise last year and not him. I would be absolutely shocked if Martz was the OC next season.
  21. Here's the report I posted a few months back explaining why it would be hard for Houston to resign him. http://www.foxsportshouston.com/11/18/11/F...amp;feedID=3714 So technically they could.. But it is not likely.
  22. Lovie needs to suck it up and answer questions. It's his job. It's certainly a fair question, given the Bears are out of playoff contention and Martz's contract runs out after the season. What else are you going to talk about?
  23. I would for the right price, but the Bears won't. The Julio Jones trade set the precedent for moving up to get a big time player. He's probably going to go #2 or #3 overall so you're talking about half your draft where you get a stud receiver but then you don't leave very much room to improve in other areas that we so desperately need to, and free agency can't solve all of that. If he somehow slipped a few spots and fell out of the top 5, maybe you could get a team to bite on our 1st and one or both of our 3rd round picks.. probably not though.
  24. Losing him would hurt. He is unquestionably the best special teams coach in the league.
