Jason the way these guys project is based on the previous draft and 5 WRs went last year and if the trend continues they figure 7 will go this year because somebody is going to draft someone early that is not according to form(Oak or Cleve). This draft may shift according to who Oakland picks and if Cleveland trades their 2 to move up.

I agree he is a good player, but dont think he is a star in the making of which #7 should be as that high of a pick. If we drop back to the middle of the draft would have no problem with that pick.

 

Safety is definitely one need but our pick at 7 has to be a all pro type and will not be him.

McShay hates Beasley, so that is why he fell. Based on pre-draft grades Perriman and DGB could easily go late in the first. Collins out of the first would be shocking and I would be willing to move up a couple of slots in the 2nd to get him (for a 5th?). That would be 2x 1st round graded players for a 1st, 2nd, and a 5th essentially. Both would immediately become starters, fill huge needs, and are coming from a winning program that plays at a high level.

 

Landon Collins is very good. I'd love him on the Bears.

I would say he is comparable to Clinton-Dix who went 21st.

Given last years draft and the recent success rate on WR's taken early, I wouldn't be surprised if more ended up going off the board sooner vs. later.

On your 2nd point, that would be a stellar first two picks.

I would say Dix was a little more consistent than Collins. Dix went about right. We'll know by Thursday night what round Collins goes.

I think Dix was the better player and prospect. However, part of this is how a player fits in a particular draft and Collins is the top safety prospect and a team looking to fill that need could take him at many different points.
