May 1, 20169 yr comment_158179 Well then. Just went by stingers post. Don't like to bash any of my Wildcats but he wasn't gonna becoming anything anyway. (PS, any idea what I was doing wrong with my links! I've had the problem ever since getting this tablet.) Do me a favor and post a link with http:// and with just www. as the leading characters. EDIT: the link has to start with http or https in order to be auto-corrected by board in post. Otherwise you have to use the insert link function. Report
May 1, 20169 yr comment_158180 http://www. Not sure that's what you wanted but..... Yeah I can do the insert link thing. In the past I used to be able to just copy and past in the message. No biggy though. Edit....I see what's going on here. Not sure why HTTP isn't in the links on my task bar Report

No biggy though. Edit....I see what's going on here. Not sure why HTTP isn't in the links on my task bar Yeah, that is what I was trying to see (if an http link was not working). Browsers have been shortening URLs and taking off the http or https portions (www defaults to http) and the board only recognizes links with http (older version of IP Board). So just add http:// back in and you will be good to go. Report
May 1, 20169 yr comment_158182 3 players with draftable grades is pretty impressive. I actually thought we could've selected Robertson-Harris in the 6th or 7th. Roy Robertson-Harris, DE/LB, UTEP, 5.5 Draft Grade (5th round grade) Ben Braunecker, TE, Harvard, 5.2 Draft Grade (5th to 6th round grade) Kevin Peterson, CB, Oklahoma State, 5.1 Draft Grade (6th to 7th round grade) Report
May 1, 20169 yr comment_158186 UDFAs TE Ben Braunecker (Harvard) and LB Don Cherry (Villanova) agreed to a deals with the #Bears. Getting Braunecker as a UDFA is very good. He has a shot at making the roster. Nobody would have been upset had we taken him in the 5th or 6th Rd. Report
May 1, 20169 yr comment_158187 Guys I wish they'd grab: Vernon Adams, QB, Oregon - A QB who had intangibles. Leader. Kyle Friend, C, Temple - Three time team captain, weight room monster, bull in a china shop Eric Striker, LB, Oklahoma - Too much playmaking ability to go undrafted. Jeremy Cash, SS, Duke - Huge hitter, great in run support, drops bombs. Report

Hopefullybwe do not have to think about S for a while. Report

Jeremy Cash looks like he is mulling over multiple teams looking for best opportunity/fit. Report
May 1, 20169 yr comment_158199 I'm hoping for Nick VanHoose. After watching every game of his it kinda boggles my mind that he isn't higher thought of. Report

May 1, 20169 yr comment_158228 Watched Calhoun against LSU and Alabama. He has a chance to develop in a year or two but he needs to get stronger and learn some better technique. If we go by last year, most of these new additions will make the roster or practice squad. we all look at this as fillings all our needs but drafting Whitehair, the WVU LB was just adding good players. I have always thought this was a three year rebuild, I think the talent may put us in a position to sniff the playoffs this year, but that is just my optimist, may not be reality. If Nick is good, you may see Freeman go away after this year. Whitehair could be the starter from day one, which means we just have very good depth at the centerline positions. I like the fact he let the draft fall to him. In the second when he fell back, I thought that was bad moves but it got us Bush and Hall, so that may turn into being brilliant moves. We ended up with another Edge player in Robertson-Harris and Braunnecker that could easily have been late round picks. So I think we did well with fillings needs. We didnt draft a QB, so we grab Hoyer. We didnt address the LT spot but Leno may be good enough, if not they can grab a vet to the fill the spot for this year. Report

Joe Sommers/TE/Wisconsin-Oshkosh Roy Robertson-Harris/DE/UTEP Dan Buchholz/G/Duquense Kevin Peterson/LB/OSU John Kling/OT/Buffalo Roy Robertson/DL/UTEP Ben Braunecker/TE/Harvard Don Cherry/LB/Villanova Darrin Peterson/WR/ (Bonus) Mark Sewall/S/Indiana State (tryout) John Kling/OT/Buffalo Alex Hansen/DE/Air Force (invite) Taveze Calhoun/CB/Mississippi State Charlie Dowdle/TE/St. Thomas (invite) Kieren Duncan/WR/CSU-Pueblo (tryout) They keep throwing darts at the board to upgrade the roster. Everybody should remember that Malik Jackson was a 5th round pick and Trevathan was a 6th pick. The point is , you can find guys late in the draft and as Undrafted players. Report

At 5'11" and 170lbs I don't expect much. If Floyd has to eat every 2hrs to gain weight and strength this kid will have to eat every hour. That aside, my biggest concern with him is that he really wasn't that productive as a WR at Colorado-State Pueblo with just 36 passes for 622 yards. For comparison: Braverman is just 5'10" and 177lbs but 108 receptions for 1367 yards with good games against Mich St and Ohio St. That said, he is outstanding at fielding punts even catching the ball over his shoulder when they kick away from him. Oddly his running style is similar to Hester's with short strides and, like Braverman, can make very quick cuts at speed. Despite the fast forty time I don't see elite long speed but he's fast. I'd hazard a guess that his PR skills are what caught the coaches eyes the most and led to contract, and that's his best (long) shot at making the roster. Mariani is just ok at fielding punts. Deonte Thompson can't catch punts so there is something of a job opening there in competition with Braverman. Regional combine highlights Pro Day and the all important highlights Report
May 16, 20169 yr comment_158513 Both of those guys could add on a couple of lbs. Sub-180 is just asking for trouble in the NFL. His 40 looked impressive, but he didn't look as fast in pads (most players don't). Also remember Thompson ran a 4.23 40. What I like about it the most is the competition being brought in at every position. No one is safe. Report

If it comes down to keeping a 6th WR that is our PR and KR guy, he may get the nod over the other two. Report
