He's perfectly competent and a good "last resort" to have in the bench because he can contribute in special teams. He's not a speed demon exactly, but he has good vision on returns and gets more than he should. I don't see any reason to draft a RB.

Are you making a crossed Ron Howard reference?

I hate making too much off of highlights but it appears he's better reading blocks in traffic than either Carey or Langford. On the other hand does he always dance around like that? Add in his special teams return skills and at a minimum it puts Carey in danger of losing a roster spot. IMO for a player with 4 years in the league there's not enough here to preclude us from drafting a RB.

I would agree especially since they were alleged to have given a look at Patterson early on. Another element he brings in is his ability to catch out of the backfield. Something Langford hasn't quite been able to master yet. He's not a feature back for sure; more a third down or change of pace back. Why I think he's similar to Sproles.

I personally disagree. I think the combination of him, Carey, and Langford precludes the drafting of another RB. I just don't think it's a very big need when there are so many other needs.

 

Having said that, I wouldn't be super upset if McCaffrey fell to the Bears in the 2nd and got drafted. Someone like that could be a difference maker.

Yes on McCaffrey in 2nd and no on drafting anyone else at RB. McCaffrey would be a multi-dimensional guy and a solid team contributor IMdO.

I have been mulling over this crazy notion of converting Langford to WR. He is still relatively early in his RB career as he converted from DB at MSU and really hasn't fully reached his potential and with Howard in tow I see limited chances for him so why not try him at WR?
