Sowell Cut, Harris Moved Up

I'm assuming this means Hicks isn't likely to play which is a huge hit to our Dline.  Sowell will likely just stay in town for when he returns to the roster in the next week or two.

Yeah, with Nichols out and Hicks likely a GTD, this makes sense. This also shows they really need to expand rosters to 55. Silly to have to do this shuffle every few weeks.

The ‘on again / off again’ relationship with Sowell continues. He’s baaaackk.  But more interestingly is that Bray was cut as result.  Should we take that to mean Trubiksy will be ready for the week six?  Not sure what I think about that.

After seeing this week after week I think it just means Sowell is back for practice snaps in the hope that he'll soon get this new position down.

Sowell can't go to the practice squad so the only way he can workout and practice with the team is to sign him then release him if anyone else needs to come up from the PS. This doesn't necessarily mean that Trubisky is good to go, because they always could cut Sowell next week and reactivate Bray from the PS again.

Sowell has a guaranteed contract so they can move him back and forth and  not affect anything. No one is going to pick him up anyways.

Technically he would have to sign a free agent contract with them, which is his choice. He can turn down any other offer.
