Draft Day 2

Gordon and Brisker were BPA.  It shows Poles will stick to the plan.

This D has shaped up quick and can be a top 10 unit.  I still think they need that stud 3T to get to that point.

I said it yesterday, if the draft is handing you lemons go make some lemonade and we just did that with our DBs.  Plus we added Cruikshank and still have a promising Thomas Graham in the room.  In front of them we have Roquan and Morrow to help in coverage.

Poles value chart from an interview a long time ago.

1.QB - Fields

 2.OTs. Jenkins and Borum

3. Pass Rush. Quinn, Gibson, Muhammad.

4. CBs Johnson and  Gordan

5. LBs  RSmith and Marrow

 6. S. Jackson and Brisker

Can't knock em for going BPA at positions of need.

I'm hoping they go OG in the 3rd and then sign a LT. Having a strong OL is just as important, if not more important than adding weapons.

We have to get some offense. Run on WRs, good names are gone and the backup plan, Thornton is gone.

I wish WR Alec Pierce was selected but that wasn't the case.  This is a deep WR draft, so plenty of lemons out there

???

Different GM.

Different Coach.

Same Bears.

How in the world they didn’t use at least one of the second round picks on OL or WR is baffling, especially with the ridiculous WR depth this year. And now there has been a crazy run on WRs and the Bears will end up picking a much lesser guy.

So much for protecting the face of the franchise and giving him weapons.

May as well at this point.

Round 3 we may get a good value piece. I'd like to see:

Zach Tom OT/G/C

Bernard Raimann OT

Rasheed Walker OT

Jalen Tolbert WR

David Bell WR

K Shakir WR

Perrin Winfrey 3T

Christian Harris LB

Leo Chenal LB

  Jeremy Ruckert TE

Tom, Raimann or Tolbert would be good.  I don't know how Poles has rated players, but IMO OL and WR are the biggest needs.  As fans, we tend to be more to the emotional side of drafting.  It seems like they are staying with BPA and will have adjust accordingly later.

Tolbert, Danny Gray and Bo Melton are still pretty WRs to target. Plus, there are still a couple good OL prospects.  Two picks in 5th round.

Velus Jones Jr WR - I like the player.  Not sure he is an X but he is a playmaker

4.31 speed and can play X and slot. Along with return.

Just don’t get it.   Nothing is ever gonna change.

Seems that way.

 Velous Jones?  With Tolbert still there?

Feels like a reach to me.

Yea, that's a head scratcher.  He looks like a Deebo though.

Gez, the guy is listed for the 40 @ 4.31

I'm guessing his speed and return skills set him apart from others available

Noted as the best returner in the draft.  If he can be a weapon in both returns and receiving, it is a good pick

Not what I would have did but if you watch his highlights, he's got some game to him. Top kick and punt returner in the SEC.

He was one of my targets for Day 3.   I really like his versatility for KR/PR but don't see him as an X.  He seems more like the 3rd/4th WR, someone to compete with Pringle and Dazz for snaps.  Love the deep speed and RAC.  He'll be good for the typical Packer plays I'm sure Getsy will run with the WR screens, drag routes but he's got a steep learning curve on route running for a 25yr old WR.

Poles and Flus did talk about wanting speed and they sure do have it with Velus. This is gonna really open up the underneath for guys like Kmet and Montgomery in the passing game.
