Also, I read somewhere (cant remember where, maybe it was on this board!) that we might trade #9 to Washington for #16 and Daron Payne. If that happens, Ryan Poles is GM of the decade.

For those who said you should never try to lose games, hopefully now we can see the incredible value that ending up #1 instead of #4 or #5 brought. Poles is playing this for long term benefit too. Sustainable. Not a word we've come to associate with the Bears ever, and now, we are here. Awesome.

That is what it was all about when Poles traded Mack, Quinn, Smith and let other FAs walk.  It was a hard year to watch but now it bears its fruit.  If Carolina ends up #1 overall next year and we trade that pick, then the Bears have 2 more years with additional 1sts and it can continue if played right.

Carolina could be bottom 5 easily this year. They are not in a tough division so number 1 doesn't seem realistic to me.
