August 4, 20232 yr comment_199248 This may not sound like a big deal, but TE was an issue last year after Kmet, and the Bears needed 3 on the 53-man roster. This really upgrades TE3 from the likes of Chase Allen and Jake Tonges to Marcedes Lewis. Report
August 4, 20232 yr comment_199252 Bringing in the Getsy connection. I believe I even threw out Lewis's name earlier this year as a possible signing because of his familiarity with the offense. Report
August 4, 20232 yr comment_199253 He’s been decent in recent years but what does he have left in the tank? He knows the base offense so should be up to speed quickly. At least preseason games got a bit more interesting. Report

Compared to Witten and Gonzalez with regards to longevity, both of which were able to contribute late in their careers. But man I swear Lewis started playing when I was in HS. August 4, 20232 yr comment_199269 He's a TE that can still block. Don't expect him to get slot of targets. As a third TE will be better than who we have. Report
August 5, 20232 yr comment_199271 He might even play in 2 TE sets, especially on running plays (or play action) Report

August 5, 20232 yr Author comment_199280 The TE3 got 80 total snaps last season with a high of 13 in Week 10. Since Lewis is much better than even our TE2 last year, I expect him to have more, but 10 snaps a game is probably what he will average. Report
