Braxton Jones out for MNF

Featured Replies

Jones has a concussion issue. Kiran Amagadje is available, as is Larry Borom.

First and foremost, I worry about Caleb. I want him protected. No point in getting him injured now.

But I'd be lying if I said I wasnt interested to see Amagadje out there showing what he's got.

Hopefully both are possible at once, and Amagadje shows us something.

But if it's one or the other, of course I'd lean toward protecting Caleb. And it's not like Borom is any sure thing.

If things get ridiculous, I wouldn't be averse to seeing Bagent out there if things get hairy just to make sure Caleb is OK.

Is it a league-wide trend this year or are the Bears just incredible unlucky with the amount of time a player misses with a concussion? It used to be that there was a 50/50 shot a player even missed a week if he was diagnosed with a concussion, but rarely would they miss multiple games. Brisker has missed 3/4 of the season with his. Bates has already missed a month, and now Roschon Johnson has missed a few games.

Tomorrow is going to be awful. I'm really not looking forward to what I expect to be another national embarrassment.

I wonder if having nothing to play for puts them in a more cautious mode

Hopefully, it's a pleasant surprise.  Maybe Kiran will show some promise.

No matter what , you cant put Borom out there. Play Kiran and give him a TE, or RB chip, or roll out Caleb . Kiran was never a plan to be a starter this yr, but will compete for LT next year. Having Braxton as a swing T is an upgrade for a backup and draft a OT.

Or depending on how the evaluation goes, Kiran could be swing tackle, and a rookie could be the LT too.

But if Amagadje shows good work in these last games, that would be a bright spot going into next year.

Yeah I’m thrown off a bit as well.

Very well could be but they are not cutting Braxton. I think one of rookie, Jones, or Kiran gets moved to LG. I hope like hell they sign Trey Smith, the chance of having 2 or 3 rookie starters on the OL, may not be a good thing to start the season.

Watching these games makes my head hurt too but I'm glad the team is doing the right thing by taking care of the players first.  From what see with other teams injury reports this is becoming more of the norm for a concussion with a player missing at least a few weeks.    Get Amegadjie on the field.  We need to have some sense of what he's capable of even if there will be mental mistakes.

If he just woke up and walked on the field, he is already better than Borom. At least Kiran gets snaps to learn from, Borom is just waiting to be gone.

LOL Im not actually a pessimist. Youll see when we are good. Im actually a really positive person. THe reason I think players and coaches are bad isnt because Im quick to hate, its because theyve been awful.
