Good for Ian. On to round 2. I believe if he is hired Bears qualify for 2 3rd round picks (presume in next years draft vs this years).

I think youre right - we could really use them this year though

I wonder if we can trade them this year

I heard, one this year and one next year. It's a third round comp pick , so pick will be around pick 100. Anything helps. A good spot for a RB or OC.

Yeah one in 2025 and one in 2026. Basically replaces the lost 4th rounder since it is at the end of the 3rd Round, but would give the Bears 5 picks in the top 105, which they would need to hit on.

Oh wow. Didn’t realize it would hit this early. My view is those are huge for OC or RB or Safety…so nice to have.

Yes, I would say RB or WR, always some talent still in play at pick 100. I think BPA is always in play at each spot. Appears to be more DL available at 10 unless we move back. Reaching with blue chip players on the board doesn't always play well . The second round will have OL available. Our first 4 picks should be trenches but if a WR, RB, or S with quality there, it should be considered. Lots of guards in top 72 to choose from, it's about value of the spot.

I seen another GM candidate has the edge at Titans, assistant at KC. No third round pick this year.

Are you guessing or making a statement from a report?

so, this is fine to say. but it's the same as when I post some article that isn't sourced etc. My point here isn't to put yours down, just to say these kind of things are interesting, and unreliable as we all know, and its cool when you do it and when i do it too :)

You are right, I only seen one report but he actually said he had a meeting set up to sign him as the next GM. That's why I worded it that he was the front runner for the job.

Just read that the new GM will be Bogonzi, an assistant manager from KC.  I have now seen several reports.

Just like that it seems the fantasy about Cunningham becoming a GM somewhere won't be happening until after the Bears become a winning team.

It seems logical that people want executives from winning organizations. Since he has been here, he's been a loser.

Cunningham interest is warming up again.  I'd almost like to keep him one more year, but the late 3rd could be beneficial adding another player.

I'd prefer the 3rd...

Ah the job nobody wants.   Interesting.

He has turned down other offers before. I suspect he will wait for an opportunity that he really believes in.

Of course I cant know what his feelings are about Jacksonville, but it's not an elite destination as you say AZ54.

My guess is he sticks around this year. My gut tells me he has been good for us in player evaluation, but i also think having Johnson and his staff around should help alleviate whatever we lose in that way when Cunningham does finally go.

That extra 3rd looks like an interior OL or DL to me. Could be a RB, S or TE too.

I was thinking the same about having more competent and experienced coaches around will help in the evaluations.

I think the OL coach is going to be a really important hire
