I agree. I am not saying I'm right, I'm saying you cant say you're right either so how can you list things we now "know?" Just because Im saying you dont know factually doesnt mean Im saying I do.

I'm giving an opinion in what happened in the draft to suggest results. I mentioned several times, no one knows the truth.

right, but youre listing conclusions that what happened in the draft tells us what the Bears thoguht, and I dont think that evidence is enough to support the claims, or in at least one case, the evidence disproves it?

It's still just an opinion, don't get what you don't understand? Anything I see doesn't prove a conclusion. Anything you think is exactly the same thought process. It's just opinions.

It would be great to see the board so we could understand the process.

I did hear Ersery didn't have the lateral movement to fit the Bears needs, so I don't think he was a must and prompted the trade down. Luther Burden wasn't even expected, but after Judkins and Henderson were taken it was a no brainer.  If they were, I don't think the Bears trade Buffalo, but we will never know.  The trade gave the Bears an OT and DT.

What the draft may he looked like if Henderson was available.

1 Loveland TE

2 Henderson RB

2 JT Tuimoloua DE

4 Jalen Royals WR

5 JJ Peques DT

7 Holin Pierce OT

If the Bears didn't trade back with BUF, they could've had Scourton at 41 and then took Johnson or Skattebo in the 3rd.

1-Loveland
2-Burden
2-Scourton
3-Kaleb Johnson
5-Marcus Mbow

It will ultimately come down to Trapilo and Turner for this draft for me.

Rating drafts this time a year are totally worthless  but it's a fan thing and sports journalists exercise. They literally picked no one i liked. I hope they did their job well.

I don’t know why you think the Bears trying to trade up for Jeanty was a fake story. Seems pretty credible to me based on the number of people who reported it.

That's inherently the problem, one pundit puts it out there and everyone jumps on it like it's true. We will never know but , in the past, if Poles wanted someone he would trade around to get him. Last year the war room video shows him being nervous about Rome not being there and wanted to trade up and Cunningham talked him out of it.

Poles doesn't leak information, ever. This draft proves that, you were the only one that had a name we drafted, Burden. Everyone was thinking we might take Warren at 10 , bingo Loveland.

no  one knows for sure but we didn't trade up. Poles would have did a Pace move and given up a ton if he really wanted him.

I'm definitely interested in someone figuring out why no one knew about half the 30 visits that the Bears had.  Seems like most of the guys they took said in their media roundups that they had 30 visits with the Bears, and yet literally none of them were reported.  How does that happen, exactly?  Did Poles actually tell people to keep quiet or try not to have certain visits publicized, even if it wa a projected day three pick?  is the Bears beat just not keeping tabs?  And why did some get publicized and some didn't?  And it even seems like there were some that were reported, like Tyler Warren, but then Greg Gabriel said it didn't actually take place.  Seems like Burden didn't even come in for a visit but ended up being the pick in the second round.  And yet another guy like Ruben Hyppolite, who wasn't even projected to be picked by a lot of people, had a 30 visit and yet no one reported it.  Hard to believe keeping that quiet was necessary but maybe it was.  I don't think there were reports on TreVeon Henderson coming in for a visit, and yet a lot of people seem to think he was the pick in the second round before the Pats took him one pikc ahead of the Bears.  So, was he a target or wasn't he?

Very strange to try to sort through after the fact.

SO true. One thing I do know is that Johnson knows the answers to all of this. He knows if Poles did well or poorly in the draft. And he has enough juice int he building to do something about it if necessary.

Johnson did make one comment, that I read as a backhanded compliment about Poles being more disciplined on the draft board than anyone hes ever seen. Meaning he wouldnt budge to reach for someone at all. Maybe that was admiration, or maybe it was surprise that he let himself get fleeced on players getting picked before us. I cant possibly know, but Johnson does, and if it's an issue, he will get it corrected :)

Im not predicting this, but I wouldn't be shocked if Poles is fired in the next couple of years and someone Johnson likes comes in to replace him.

Yes hard to speak to actions we don't know anything about. Newman also mentioned he came in for a 30 visit that no one reported. That in itself is odd if they tried to hide those things . Pre draft visits doesn't mean we draft them or not but the year before had 4 of 5 draftees having visits. So it's just something to look at. They met with Loveland at the pro day and don't know if he came here or not. They didn't expect Burden to be there so they didn't have a reason to previsit. Since we didn't get any indication who they wanted or didn't want, easy to speculate on anything.

That could happen but with great coaches, upgraded roster and a 5 star QB, you think we are going to have losing seasons going forward? That's the only way he's getting fired.

you dont know that. neither do I. We cant know what would happen if Johnson wanted someone else. We cant even know if Johnson LOVES how Poles handled the draft. We just dont know.

But people get fired after winning seasons. Lovie did. Johnson has pull and if he doesnt want Poles, then Poles will be out. But what does Johnson think about him? I have no earthly idea! All I said was that Johnson WILL know if Poles screwed up the draft or not. We wont know, but Johnson will. That's all Im saying.
