This is a very realistic draft. I think Dayo plays more snaps inside next year and would go 2 DEs instead of 2 DTs. I suspect they get someone that can play both spots to be able to move around pieces.

Dayo may not be ready to contribute.  Coming off an achilles rupture, he may never be explosive again.  I would also argue against move around pieces.  We need positional dogs to create a pass rush.

And no one was ever scared of Dayo. We need a difference maker, or several on the D line. It's the glaring need for this team. Imagine us doing all the things we do AND having a pass rush. Then we'd be serious contenders who would be favorited in most games.

The sad part is that was supposed to be Montez Sweat. Does he need stud DTs to wreck the inside or does he need replaced?

People like to talk about getting this stud and that stud edge but you have to look at contracts. Reality check is find one we can fit in our Cap and someone other teams may trade for? Jarrett, Dayo aren't productive enough to trade and have big contracts. Trey Hendrixson is a free agent next year, find 35 mil a year to give to him. Sweat is our best edge that will have over 10 sacks on the year. He's not top tier but getting rid of him doesn't make us better.

Our DL help will be coming in the draft.

Just like Sherman Turner helped us this year.  Hate to shatter any hope, but a beloved will get moved to make room for real help. The Bears have a window and a 25th-32nd pick is not going to help. Id Trade DJ, our 1st and a 2027 1st or 2nd for Myles Garrett. Then cut whoever you need to for the cap

If we are competitive and winning as construed and will definitely be better with Caleb's progress, why would they tear down assets to add to needed pass rusher that will eat assets? I don't think they will look at it as you suggested.

Now defensive assets is a different story. With the emergence of D Jackson  I could see Edmunds leaving by a trade that frees up 15 mil or even J J because of what's behind him.

I still don't think a strapped cap team is trading for big salaries if they trade their best player because of Garrett money.

Turner got hurt just like Jarrett that is now healthy and playing better.

You can't plan injuries, any player they trade for could get hurt. Dayo and Jarrett both were hurt this year.

I see it more likely to go after Trey Hendrickson and try to fit his money into our Cap than trading assets to get a high level player.

Example ' trade Edmunds ( if even possible) probably getting you a third round pick, JJ ( even less likely) getting you a second round pick) re-sign Jackson and Wright and hope the money saved will put us in better position to get Hendrickson or whoever.

Myles Garrett, Max Crosby, Micah Parson are 3 players that alone force opponents to plan against since they can change games.  I would part with DJ and our next 2 firsts in a heart beat to have any of those 3.  Luther Burden can step into that roll, Jahyde Walker can jump a spot and so on.  They can make a few cuts like Edmunds to make cap room.  It hurts losing a player like DJ but the fan base would forget fast knowing Garrett/Crosby are wearing the blue now orange.

Right. Some ask why we would ever trade away good players, and of course the reason is to get other good players at positions of need.

If Las Vegas wants to clear their future cap, they might want to move Crosby. They pay a price but not that much, a lot of his cap is salary, and would come to us and off their books.

He would cost us about $30.8M, $29.8M, $27.3M and $28.2M over the next four years.

If we traded Jaylon Johnson after June 1st, we would open up $16M

If we traded or cut Tremaine Edmunds, that would open up $15M

If we trade DJ Moore before June 1st, it opens up $16.5M, after June 1st it opens $24.5M

If we trade Cole Kmet before June 1st, it opens up $8.4M, after June 1st it opens $10M

The Raiders might trade for a player or players and at least a first round pick, or they might want picks only. The players above dont need to be traded to the Raiders, we could trade them to someone else for picks, and then use some of those picks or our own to make the deal too.

This is a good year to wheel and deal.

If the Raiders took out first round pick this year, and some combination of players above (or draft picks we traded them to someone else for) for Crosby, that would really make us a scary team for the next 3 or 4 years.

I don't disagree with anything you said but I don't think the bears will do that. DJ will have a 12 million Dead Cap hit next year and 8 mil in 27 if traded. So the Cap relief isn't as great as it looks on paper.

I would love to get one of those guys but the cost will be to great.

Poles will figure something out but doubt if it's Crosby or Garrett.

Crosby has 10 sacks this year. Sweat has 9.5. Crosby only had 7.5 sacks last year. He's a damn good player, but he seems to get injured a lot. I don't think I would feel as good about investing in him as you guys do. If I'm going to trade players to open cap space and give up draft picks, it would be for Trey Hendrickson or Garret, not Crosby.

Just for everyone reading, those numbers arent true. If we Trade DJ, we open up $16.5M, and if the trade is a post June 1st trade, then it opens up $24.5M in space.

That all sounds good. Find me 3 teams that will want to trade for JJ, DJ and Kmet. You can cut Edmunds and resign D Jackson that will have a probably 5 mil cost in 26. You have dead money of 34 mil you have to account for for 26 alone if all those transactions happen.

From Poles outlook, do you think he thinks losing DJ, Kmet, JJ and Edmunds, and at least 2 first round draft picks is worth signing Crosby?

I think he will try sign a  Hendrickson as a better option than that complicated scenario. Crosby only has a 1/2 sack more than Sweat does right now this year. Booker is a potential young Maxx Crosby being the same size with a no stop motor.

I do think they try to add a pass rusher but not sure it's with the cost of 6 assets.

I am using OTC cap information . Do you have other sources to verify your stats?

If there are any trades they will probably happen around draft time not post June.

Unless Cincinnati puts a tag on Hendrickson, he's a free agent next year.

Cleveland and Vegas are  in rebuild mode which means they could trade them players but more likely for draft picks. Not sure why they would trade for high priced assets when it's at least 2 years before they will be good again.

Youre using it wrong. Im using the same resource. You have to set it to trade.

I did, you are using everything post June numbers. The difference between us is I think trades will happen around the draft, you are using everything Post June. You can not designate trades after June if you do earlier like cuts.
