Mongo3451
Was scrolling and found the below. I don't think we'll be heavily investing in OL next year. Trapillo looks like he's ready to be the guy. Benedet can be the next man up at all five positions. If Kiran gets his act together, we're deep for the next two years... Stinger226
This is our OL for the next two years and we have the backups on the team already. Kiran, Theo, Newman . I think they bring McFadden and Stromberg back for the other OL backup spots. I didnt see the investment of Johan Jackson as a good idea at the start of the season but he is cooking now. LT was the weak spot and Ozzy and Theo will compete there next yr. Kiran may be back in the race , injuries has slowed his progress. I dont expect a high pick for the OL in the next draft. If he continues to progress of course you're right but I though even as a rookie, he would start at LT after the Jones injury but Theo forced his way in there. I am not going to count him out although I just looked and he isnt signed for next year. There may be a few teams to give him a few bucks considering how tough the LT spot is hard to fill. I think with our success a lot of players will want to come back here even on a minimum deal.

He’s not perfect but there won’t be any looking back now because any team can win with how well he is playing right now. It only gets better from here. I’m watching this film a second time because it is fun watching Darnell against Jalen Carter. It’s fun watching Dalman against Jordan Davis so might need to have a 3rd view. This Dline is very talented so our guys did not win on every snap but they won the vast majority of them.
Stinger226
That's a good tape. You have to watch it several times to get to see every Lineman play. Ozzy definitely has improved over the beginning of the season. I think one year of him getting stronger will help him a lot. Some people judge a player by a few of their worst plays but I think you have to look at the over all game of that Player. This is probably the most talented DL we face all year. Nolan Smith, Davis, Carter and Phillips . No OL will ever look good all the time against them but its the results that matter. 281 rushing the ball. Philly hasnt given up that yardage since the 1970s. Theo is healthy now and to give the start to Ozzy does say something to back up your statement. Expectations and patience is important in watching a team grow. Lots of fans wanted another RB with Swift and not drafting a RB until the 7th round. In comparison Swift is not as good as Gibbs and I think Monangai has more sting than Montgomery. This has turned out to be excellent choices for BJs offense. I think they get Swift to redo his contract next year for cap relief because players are going to want to stay here because of BJ and our success. Poles rebuilt the OL in one year with the addition of Ozzy, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson and the improvement of Wright. This happened w/o having to draft a LT with our first two picks of which a lot of pundits wanted.

jason
Don’t know why this was so difficult for the Bears’ front office to see over the past twenty years. It all starts with OL.

I heard a former player say the Bears run multiple blocking concepts which is difficult for our players to understand their assignments. Maybe why the slow start. Wide and inside zone, 12 man, 13 man, play-action, counters, all leaving the Defense clueless on whats coming. Lets say Caleb is about 50% there on his potential scale, next year he will be closer to 100%. He gets his feet right and his accuracy will improve. Now, with half a season of coaching under his belt, hopefully he has enough to win the job and keep it, and keep growing too. Benedet is a really good swing tackle - he is borderline starter material himself.
AZ54 Posted yesterday at 05:38 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:38 AM The cat is out of the bag. I always watch several film breakdowns each week. This week there are so many Bears film breakdowns it is insane. I’m not even talking about the short take stuff from big media orgs which I find to be mostly useless blather. These guys are just fun to listen to and they catch some small details that I don’t ever hear in the usual play breakdowns reviews

The offense is an orchestra and Ben Johnson is the master conductor. Watching players be where they need blocking, faking a route then blocking down field where the RB ends up. This scheme caught one of the best D Coordinators off guard and made his D look foolish. It might take the league some catching up.
AZ54
If you want to see how diabolical Ben Johnson is, this is my absolute favorite film breakdown of the year. Now it's crystal clear why his offense is so complex in all the options he wants to present to a defense, yet simple when you see the actual play run, and finally why he demands so much precision from his offensive players. To put all of that together with the timing for the various motions, snap timing, option routes, option blocks (shown in the Oline Committee video), etc. is why it's taken this team so many weeks to get to this point and we still have room to grow. AZ54
Say what.... I've never heard or seen this metric before. No clue how they grade players but regardless, I'm shocked to see our rookie on the list in just his 2nd game as a starter at LT against the Eagles. I hope one of y'all put money down on that bet having any NFL week with 2 Bears OTs ranked in the top 7.

I was impressed with Dalman handling Jordan Davis on several occasions by himself. I've been watching some Packer fan content and they don't think the bears can handle their DLine. Eagles clearly have a better DL than the Packers do. BJ will scheme a successful attack against a good Packers D. Here's a nice shorter than predicted we would be 8-4 at this time before the Philly game.
