Mongo3451
I'm the meantime Arlington Heights has gone from overly demanding to begging... https://abc7chicago.com/post/arlington-heights-officials-make-push-keep-chicago-bears-illinois-teams-looks-build-stadium/18414036/?fbclid=IwdGRzaAPXX99jbGNrA9dfkWV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHivqDP75iHNXJXZI11VcRjkHCwXSEplnQ2U49uV6A-T4bEu10vs09T6jIaGL_aem_pEzyNpjehP_xP9Jd9DZrtA
ASHKUM BEAR
The Bears were only asking for help with roads. I dont know how the state cant accept those terms. Looks like Indiana is more than willing, they are also a smart state and you see manufacturing up and down the highways. Illinois is a graveyard compared. jason
Moving the team from Chicago to Indiana would be a catastrophe. It simply can’t happen. It would ruin Bears legacy for all time.

The 100 million prop taxes is BS, when LA Rams are like paying 8. I dont want to see them move but once this state has nothing, maybe the voters will wake up but doubtful. You can see downtown from the proposed location. Indiana will develop all around it too. (With Chicago money). I'll buy season tickets if they build here. I agree with your sentiments in terms of politics and taxes related to the move, but I’m speaking more philosophically. If the team is not in Chicago it’s not the Chicago Bears. I hate seeing tax payers foot the bill too, but at least the Bears are only asking for surrounding infrastructure from Illinois.
Mongo3451
Indiana has offered to purchase the land and build the stadium to the Bear's specifications. The Bears take years to pay off the stadium, then own it in full. While the Bears pay for the stadium, they pay no taxes. Illinois can't compete... Illinois better take notice. The way this state is ran, they will force them to remove Chicago from their name or tax them for it.

If the team is not in Chicago it’s not the Chicago Bears. I understand your sentiment but it hasn't affected the legacy of other NFL teams and several fall in that group. Living in Illinois our government has major issues on how they spend money. I think just wanting infrastructure upgrades for teams is just normal operating procedure. Chicago and the state don't deserve this team at this time. I'm going to be a bear's fan if they moved to Alaska. At 73 I don't go to live games anymore during cold weather and would expect Indiana to do a better job creating around a new stadium. Have been to Indiana for several concerts and Indy, always a good experience. You still have the lake Michigan effect in NWI. Can't be any worse going to NWI than going to a White Sox game.
