Random news from the homeland.  We are already ahead of Illinois to help with the new stadium...IMG_20260116_125207.png

The Bears were only asking for help with roads.  I dont know how the state cant accept those terms.  Looks like Indiana is more than willing, they are also a smart state and you see manufacturing up and down the highways. Illinois is a graveyard compared.

Moving the team from Chicago to Indiana would be a catastrophe. It simply can’t happen. It would ruin Bears legacy for all time.

You must not live in illinois. We are under a communist rule that would rather see the state and team die than give it life. The 100 million prop taxes is BS, when LA Rams are like  paying 8.  I dont want to see them move but once this state has nothing, maybe the voters will wake up but doubtful.

Agreed.  NW Indiana is actually close than Arlington.  You can see downtown from the proposed location.  Indiana will develop all around it too. (With Chicago money).  I'll buy season tickets if they build here.

I agree with your sentiments in terms of politics and taxes related to the move, but I’m speaking more philosophically. If the team is not in Chicago it’s not the Chicago Bears.

The Jets and Giants are in New Jersey, not New York.....there is a long lost of teams no longer in the city the say.

I hate seeing tax payers foot the bill too, but at least the Bears are only asking  for surrounding infrastructure from Illinois.

Indiana has offered to purchase the land and build the stadium to the Bear's specifications.  The Bears take years to pay off the stadium, then own it in full.  While the Bears pay for the stadium, they pay no taxes.  Illinois can't compete...

I dont see how they can. Illinois better take notice.  The way this state is ran, they will force them to remove Chicago from their name or tax them for it.

I understand your sentiment but it hasn't affected the legacy of other NFL teams and several fall in that group.

Living in Illinois our government has major issues on how they spend money. I think just wanting infrastructure upgrades for teams is just normal operating procedure. Chicago and the state don't deserve this team at this time.

I'm going to be a bear's fan if they moved to Alaska. At 73 I don't go to live games anymore during cold weather and would expect Indiana to do a better job creating around a new stadium. Have been to Indiana for several concerts and Indy, always a good experience.

You still have the lake Michigan effect in NWI. Can't be any worse going to NWI than going to a White Sox game.

Yes.  Not only do you get the lake effect, you get the surrounding area.  No more egress problems.  The stadium can be built any way they want.  Tailgating will be off the chain.  The surrounding blocks will be 100% entertainment based.  The game experience will become a weekend long event.  Nobody does this stuff better than the Hoosier State!

Outsider looking in, I see this more as Bears management (mostly Kevin Warren) shrewdly trying to get what they want and what’s in the best interest in the team.  In the little reading up I did, Pritzker sounds like he’s been negotiating with good faith (at least outwardly) which includes public support to either expand or build at Arlington.  I also see the Mayor of Chicago might be more of a blockade than Pritzker.   At any rate, if you consider how long ago Warren was hired and how long this has been going on, this is ultimately his sole purpose.

It’s also worthy to note that there was specter of loss for when he was helping negotiate a new stadium for Minnesota.  It was brought up that perhaps LA would be a better venue for the Vikings.  Allegedly Warren was able to ‘negotiate the tensions of possible relocation’  during stalled legislative negotiations and instead was able to secure public-private funding on the Vikings improvement .

Ha!  You think today’s weather in Chicago might be a factor in how well LA plays?  Add in an extra 3-4 hour plane ride from Seattle.

Pritzker has actually been the main holdup.  The Chicago mayor has been desperate to help.  Under Pritzkers leadership the Bears were told nothing would be considered in 2026.  Both of them are bloviating grandstanders though.  Windy City to the core.

I didn't know where to stick this.

I have seen some people ( not on here) wanting to badmouth the bears for moving without having the debt paid off on Soldiers field. This clears that up.

It's only been a week since our last game and it feels like it was a month ago to me by all the people responding to the game.

According to my source, the Indiana General Assembly is putting the final touches on bringing the Bears to Indiana.(As we speak) Illinois can't act fast enough.  Game over.

Not a fan at all of moving let alone ending up in Indiana. Have to re-evaluate my fandom if they move out of Chicago?  It’s so weird.

Illinois is notorious of screwing things up. I prefer they stay but where the bears play, I will follow. Alaska would be fine too. Talk to the govner AG.

C'mon Skip!  You can literally see downtown Chicago from the proposed site.  Indiana is awesome...

Lol. Man the prices to have a professional team here would be exorbitant!  We had a semi-pro hockey team for a few years but it was too much for them to maintain.  Although I do have a couple friends running for office this November so I’ll ask around.

Spoken like a true Indiana-ite.  I suppose at the end of the day what does someone from Alaska care?  Not like I make it that way much anymore.  🤷🏻‍♂️ Fine with watching it on TV.

Question.  How do you think the helmet logo would be like?  Still the iconic C?

Of course I'm kidding around but  saying I'm a fan where ever they go is very true. Now if Chicago replaced the bear's with another team, I may look at that differently.
