Cairo Santos Apology Thread

Featured Replies

I have not been the biggest fan, mainly due to his lack of range, but his kicks tonight with the wind and the onside kick were amazing. This was arguably the best game of his career.

This is the reason they kept Santos instead of changing to Moody. We have gotten two onside kicks this year and the bad weather games. Without him, we don't win this game.

i am with you, i am/was not his biggest fan. it's just strange (or not so for a kicker) that he runs hot and cold. misses easy chip shots one game and makes the incredible on others. that said.... his game was superb last night. when he lined up for a 51 yarder i said not possible with that wind. he proved me wrong.

He is still not a 60-yard type kicker, but considering a quarter of the season is played in inclement weather, maybe he is better suited for this than I gave him credit for.

I thought there was no chance he would hit the 51 yarder. Even the one before with that cross wind…wow.

With more teams calling more plays on 4th down nowadays, especially if they’re anywhere near the 50 yard line, not having a killer leg for distance isn’t as much a necessity.  As long as our team can get him within a reasonable range and he stays accurate, he’s almost as good as Gould.

Good analysis, I agree.
