Trapillo and Edward’s done for season

Featured Replies

Incredible win but sucks for TJ and Trapillo. Both suffered significant injuries. Trapillo tore his patellar tendon and Edward’s broke his fibula. Hope they both have full recoveries.

Anyone know what long term prognosis is for that type of injury for Trapillo. He had really been ascending. Presume this might mean he misses a chunk of next year too / impacts his ability to train.

That's a potentially career changing injury for Trapilo. The return rate for lineman who come back and don't get worse is pretty bad. Just awful.

LT has to be back on the menu in the draft, unfortunately.

I’m hoping we find out it is season ending but not as serious as it could be. Good thing is he is young.

Hope for the best for Ozzy but realize Braxton could end up having playing time which could elevate his off-season status to a team paying him 15+ and getting us a comp pick. Anyone know how the value works?

Terrible news on the injury front, Edwards will be fine, but Trapilo is probably done. His body is probably too big for that tendon, and only half the players come back from that type of injury. Most times, it is 2 year recovery, which would mean he would miss the next two seasons. So the Bears will need to address LT in the offseason.

Help me out to clarify.  They put TJ on the cart but had coaches help off Ozzie.

Important because full ruptures are easy to see on field and the patient is not weight bearing.  The cart would have been out.  Full ruptures are very rare. Like 1%.  I'd bet it's not a full rupture

Good point.  I thought Edwards injury was worse because of the cart coming out.  There have been players able to walk off the field with broken Fibulas before.  I wonder if his wasn’t a complete break of both the Fibula and Tibia?

Agree that it’s odd Trapilo was able to maneuver off the field mostly on his own. Maybe a higher level of pain tolerance and youth?  🤷🏻‍♂️. Agree with a guy his size, if it’s anything significant it’ll cost him some time . Here’s to it not being as bad.

I hope for the best with Ozzy. One thing I learned this past weekend is Ozzy >> Will Campbell.

Ozzy saved us a necessary TO had he not walked off the field. How smart is that for a rookie.
