Wednesday at 10:26 PM2 days comment_234748 Comparing QBs closest to Williams in 2024-2025:Herbert 672-1016, 66.1%, 7597 yds, 49 TD, 16 INT, 804 Rush Yards, Years 5-6 (within 114 passing yards, 2 TD)Mahomes 707-1083, 65.3%, 7515 yds, 48 TD, 22 INT, 729 Rush Yards, Years 8-9 (within 32 passing yards, 1 TD)Williams 681-1130, 60.3%, 7483 yds, 47 TD, 13 INT, 877 Rush Yards, Years 1-2Allen 626-943, 66.4%, 7399 yds, 53 TD, 16 INT, 1110 Rush Yards, Years 7-8 (within 6 TD)The biggest difference is that Williams was a rookie in 2024 with Flus as HC. Considering that, his being already in the mix with this group of QBs is a great sign. Mahomes and Allen are annual MVP Candidates, and Herbert has started to be put in that conversation.I honestly think Williams starts becoming a perennial 4K / 30 TD QB. Report
Wednesday at 11:39 PM2 days comment_234749 I think those numbers will be his baseline from here on out. He would have had that if you eliminated drops, penalties, or miscommunication. We might have a top 5 this year and top 2 next as he and BJ learn. Report

Kramer was the last Bears QB to finish in the top 10 in Passing Yards (1995) since Caleb who finished 7th last year. He was 106 yards away from already being in the top 5.A funny fact is Rex Grossman finished 12th one year, which was higher than Cutler did in any season he played for the Bears (13th twice). Report

9 hours ago9 hr Author comment_234756 So Mark Schlereth is making the rounds about how Caleb is a bad QB lol. That his superman plays are what saves him from being a bad QB. I think this is absolutely laughable. He just finished his 2nd year in the NFL, had a terrible coaching staff his rookie year, was getting sacked a ton, etc. Does he need to improve, for sure, but it's literally 3-4 total throws a game and he is magically an all-pro. There is no way he could put up stats like in the first post if he was "bad" or even mediocre. Just funny how some media guys that have some personal beef with him will go down with the ship instead of just admitting they were wrong. Report

3 hours ago3 hr comment_234758 It wasn’t just the criticism of things Caleb needs to improve. It was the list of QBs in his draft class that Schlereth said are already playing at that high level. Which is complete BS. I watched Bo Nix and he’s not always seeing the field well. He’s quicker to run than Caleb. It’s more of the same with all the QBs in the draft class. He just singled out Caleb. 44 minutes ago44 min comment_234759 When I first read what Schlereth said, I thought "what an idiot" - everyone here knows what a Caleb supporter I am. I think we are looking at an actual star in the making. But then I heard what he meant by the comment, and I have to say I agree with him. Caleb does need to play small ball better, and I expect he will this year. Johnson isnt force feeding the offense and concentrating on footwork now. He will be there focused on exactly this goal. Id bet heavily that it will happen. Now Kyler Murray? No. Thats idiotic. But Caleb, who already excels at the hardest and rarest skills, will now develop the ordinary things that lots of QBs can learn. No reason to think he wont, and when he does he will truly be a top QB, maybe the best. And Schlereth said that too, but it doesnt get repeated as much, because of narratives. And Im no Schlereth supporter either. I dont particularly pay attention to him positively or negatively. But this whole hullabaloo is kind of fake. But Kyler Murray? Ha no that was idiotic. Report
