We need Coby Bryant and Kyler Gordon on the field. Jaylon Johnson has checked out. I love the business decision he made at the goal line and made the Angry Runs segment...

He is yet another example of Bears front office betting wrong on an internal player. But JJ is gone - get rid of him

Bears definately need to draft a QB to groom. All the Bagent top 32 QB died today. I assume Keenum plays the Falcons unless they rush Caleb back to try stop the bleeding.

The NFL is any giving sunday. You get momentum and it is hard to stop.

A few things that are abundantly clear after today's embarrassing loss:

- Tyson Bagent, Jaylon Johnson, and Roschon Johnson are not NFL players.
- Ben Johnson is a really bad coach against teams in his own division.

I'm not sure if Keenum starting would have made a difference in the result, but he certainly would have been a better option than whatever that was from Tyson Bagent. Reminded me of watching Todd Collins in 2010. No power or conviction in any of his throws. Took so many bad sacks, and somehow looks even slower and less athletic than he did as a rookie. The Bears never had a chance with him at quarterback. Ben sticking with him as long as he did was a joke.

Speaking of Ben, it's time to have a serious conversation about how good he really is. We have scored 10 points this year COMBINED against the Vikings and Packers. The guy who boasted about breaking the NFL scoring record in the offseason. Last year, it was a similar story. They can't get anything going until it's late in the game and they're in a hurry up situation. 3-6 now in divisional matchups (including playoffs). 2 of those were because of Caleb's 4th quarter heroics and 1 was from a special teams return that set them up for a last second FG in another low scoring affair. Not good enough. I wish he'd stfu and focus on fixing this rotten offense in the redzone instead of telling reporters about how many points he WANTS to score. He should be embarrassed, because that was an absolute disgrace.

These guys watch film like we do. They saw Bagent hit a lot of intermediate routes across the middle last week so they sank on them. Lack of arm strength to the outside make him risky if he’s not early…and he’s not early on those throws. Then he was just slow to hit the underneath routes, if he even made that decision. I can’t wait for Caleb to get back. At this point we’ve only seen 6 or 7 quarters with Caleb. The fact we got out of this QB mess with a 2-1 record is something of a miracle but this loss stings because the offense looked so inept.

Roschon cannot cut back so he’s useless on all these zone blocking schemes. He’d have gaps but choose to run straight ahead up someone’s backside for 2yds. Swift still appears to be struggling with his burst but he was far better at finding the creases.

I think Keenum would have been the same outcome if he started. He doesn't have the arm either but much quicker on hitting the check down.

Absolutely embarrassing performances from everyone. This was gutless. No effort at all. We made Love look all pro and made a mediocre packers team look like world beaters. They came out with intensity and urgency. We came out flat and didn’t event try to match their intensity. I turned it off in the third there was no point letting my blood pressure get any higher.

Honestly I feel the Bears would have still lost even with Caleb in. Would’ve been closer but still a loss. Everything was just ‘off’.

Agree that Johnson needs to focus more on the games and less on making locker room motivation.

This game reminds me a lot of last years shellacking in Detroit on week 2 (52-21 loss). Think Johnson had a bit of a chip on his shoulder to beat his old mentor and was sent packing. Here he had an axe to grind with LeFleur and lost focus on strategy. Good thing was after last years 0-2 start he began making wiser choices and the team followed suit. Hopefully we’ll see the same here. Atlanta is definitely a team on the rise.

Hard to believe in them to be a playoff team right now. All these supposedly high end playmakers are a shell of expectations. How much do they improve with Caleb, Trapillo, Monangai, Gordon, etc, will be our saving grace.

Well they won’t be able to do like last year and come from behind to win a majority of their games. They need to play like they did against Carolina and stick with it. That day the defense wasn’t quite up to par but since then they’ve made some improvements. Remember today they lost three of their starters and kept getting put in bad positions because of the repeated turnovers. And still they were in it until late in the game.

when Caleb returns the offense will look better overall. I'm just hoping he doesn’t feel like he needs to run out of the pocket every time. They can be a great offense. Until today they were leading in many categories, and that was with their #2 and #3 QBs.

I’m not that down on this team. I definitely think the 89 plays took some of the life out of our Oline. That is no excuse for Bagent but it affected the running game. There were lanes but Roschon can’t make a cut to save his life. Caleb will being to life our passing game outside the numbers.

We might catch a break next week because Penix couldn’t finish the game tonight due to a rib injury. It didn’t look serious in the game but it bothered him enough that he couldn’t throw.

Yeah they suddenly become very one dimensional with Penix out. We’d probably be in big trouble if he were to play.

Meanwhile the our opponent for the following week, NE, put a big hurt on LV yesterday in their solid win. It appears Maye has figured out whatever was ailing him early on. We’ll need to have our collective ducks in a row to do well in that one.

Alright - lets get some guys back healthy and lets see the team reset and lock in. Let's get our starting QB back, lets hopefully get our nickel back Gordon here, and lets hopefully see Shemar Turner back too and see if over time he can make an impact. Let's also see the offense get back to the little things as well. I am sure Dillon will learn from some things too.

I do think we may see the Bears make a trade here to upgrade the defense. Khalil Mack has been rumored, but I wonder if we see a more splash move happen on the dline (or at DB).

Agree with everything you said.

Missed chatting in the thread yesterday, maybe a good thing, LOL

I just hope if we do a trade, two things:

Fair price paid

Not a 1-year rental. I want someone who has some tread left on his tires.
