James Brown OT: Troy

I watched this guy sit around in the 3rd to the end... Wondered why nobody grabbed him

-From WALTER Football

James Brown, OT, Troy

Height: 6-4. Weight: 306.

40 Time: 5.30. 10-yd Split: 1.84.

Bench: 24.

Arm: 34 1/2. Hand: 10 1/4.

Projected Round (2012): 2-4.

4/24/12: Brown is a sleeper prospect who flashed at the Senior Bowl. Against elite competition, he showed some real quickness and athletic ability. Brown was a First-Team All-Sun Belt pick this season. He started 37 games over three years for Troy.

Brown is a developmental project, but he is an interesting prospect worth taking a hard look at after his week in Mobile. Brown had a fine performance at the Combine. He has the upside and athletic ability to potentially stay at left tackle in the NFL.

To get a 3th round grade on a UFA, at least we can say, (we kinda addressed the OL)

. A.J. Greene, OT — He was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, and did not work out Tuesday because he no longer wants to play football. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

I looked up everything I could fine on Brown and his future looks up for him. On different websites, he was rated 102,95,182,and 105 best player in the draft. Being a 3rd to 4th round grade on most websites, I would have to kinda include him as a potential player even thou a UFA. His knock is lack of elite competition and needs to be stronger. He looked good at Senior Bowl against better competition, and I know we can get him stronger, so we may have added some OL help.

Well, i was referring to Brown.. But i saw that clown too.

New thread by TerraTor. I knew Terra wouldn't quit on us. Where else can he go for therapy on his favorite team?

I see Brown as our 5th round pick, and even in that case, it would be a great pick. I was looking for the Bears to draft him in the 4th, 6th, then 7th. To get him as a UDFA, even better.

nobody likes a quitter. ..... This is my only way to vent anyway... ha

I think there is something to this Brown. I'm intrigued to see how he does. I read one of his "selling points" was that he has fiery disposition. I think he'll be an upgrade to Webb...maybe even Williams (if he goes back to Tackle).

He could turn out to be a starter, but doubt if that would happen his first year. He needs to get stronger and gain experience.
