February 1, 201313 yr comment_115343 We have to do the oline this year.. If we make replacing our ageing defense more important, we will never get it done. I want a FA ol and two ol in the draft. Get a FA lb to get by for a couple of years. We don't have the money or draft picks, to fill all our needs in one year. Bring Urlacher back if we can do it cheap. Three new OL is too much. Continuity is huge to an OL and some of our guys are still developing. 40% change is enough for one year. We can invest in more next year as well. But LB, TE, WR and DL also need addressed. Report

While I agree about the thoughts on continuity, the point is kind of moot when the players with the continuity have so thoroughly sucked. Placing continuity over performance is a good recipe for failure. Sometimes you have to blow things up in order to allow progress. Report

I think our young tackles and Scott are redeemable. I think the only instances where it is warranted is if Louis doesn't make it back and there is also no option to backup Garza. Report

I guess it comes down to how much faith one has in: -Webb as a starter -Louis returning healthy -Scott as a starter -Carimi as a starter Of the four, I only see the last one as a reality. Report
February 1, 201313 yr comment_115353 I see 2 of the 4 being a reality, I think you know which 2 those are. Report

I rank my faith in this order. Webb, Scott, Louis, Carimi. I think all 4 are on the team next season, but who knows... Report

I think if you define your use of "fail" by assuming none of the four players will be on the team next season, then that would incorrect. At least one, maybe two (Louis and Scott) at least deserve back up roles. Carimi is a former 1st rounder that will be on his third year of a rookie contract, so he probably will be too. Despite if he is determined a "bust". And not sure how much Webb costs but like many have mentioned, he is "servicable". Maybe not start worthy... Report

I think they all will be in the mix next year, I mean by fail is not live up to expectations. Webb is a long shot on being a very good player, usually players start to take a giant step forward at this time in his career. Louis could be a decent piece if we upgrade the other posiitons. Scott is what he is, average but better than we have had. Carimi is a big ? Hopefully the injury last year causing him to not be able to workout properly in the off season was a big factor, other wise , giving him one more year is all we should do. I think out of those 4 he could be the best one. BUT we need some other options to fall back on if some or all of them turn to shit. Report
