Bennett is more of a prototypical 3 down TE who fits the West Coast system perfectly. Cook would have been nice too, but he's not the blocker Bennett is.

It's only a matter of time before Davis and/or Spaeth are gone.

Interesting that I kept noting Bennett wanted to play with his brother in Tampa but now he's referring to Marshall as his other brother lol.

Good choice, mid-priced FA but versatility fits the need very well. Combined with Rodriguez we should have a good tandem in pass catching TEs.

Any idea what the $ are? This is a good move. Good all around tight end and a major upgrade over Davis.

He was the top free agent on PFF. Emery must really like that site. Not sure how I feel about the signing until I see what he got paid and what they do on the line. I love it as long as they fix the line.

Absolutely. The SCORE was talking about how he was drafted in the 2nd round as a talented pass catching TE, but be he had to become a blocker in the Dallas system.

 

I love the signing . . . that being said, I was one who was convinced that Kellen Davis was going to be the answer at TE for the Bears. He had learned to be a blocker at TE behind Olsen, and now we just had to let him flourish as a receiver.
