  2. Question: was it me or did the oline seem to lose control of the defensive rush? Was watching Kmet in an interview where he insisted Caleb is a ‘pocket passer’ but is also a dual threat with his legs. I’d agree about the elusive part but I haven’t seen him do a lot of pocket work, especially not yesterday. I get there are some designed rollouts but a lot of the time Caleb is spending his time juking and spinning away from defensive pursuit. Is the line not doing its job, is Caleb too impatient or ???
  3. My wife’s favorite player and I heard all about it. Lol.
  4. Excellent idea. Been awhile since I’ve been in town but looking forward to seeing the museum, aquarium, Navy Pier etc. And even Sears Tower - or whatever it’s called these days.
  5. Ha!!! Funny enough my wife (Steph) is cold no matter where she goes. Stood on a beach in 85 Hawaii…with a hoody and told us it was cool. I’ll have whiskey for me…just in case.
  6. We are sound that. Steph found one that’s called the ‘architecture ’ tour. Friends of hers insisted.
  7. The river tour is amazing.

  10. Yes I agree, thats why I said it like that. He did start the league tho so I was just giving him his due.
  11. 59 pts and Loveland without a catch was not on my bingo card.
  12. Crazy game. 8 TDs, 2 per quarter. Caleb with a career high 94.9 QBR, 72.4% Comp (5th best}. Another game with 2x 100 Yard Rushers. Carolina was a top 15 defense last year and added some more players like Lloyd who was everywhere. 59 pts was the most pts allowed in Panthers history. The defense made adjustments and only allowed 7 pts from 2:45 left in the 2nd quarter to 2:15 in the 4th, basically a half of play. 12 penalties was crazy. Way too many questionable calls, but still too many overall. If they scored 59 with 12 penalties on the road against a top 15 defense, they are going to be a scary team.
  13. What a crazy game. Started off like a disaster, but they hung in and Carolina just couldn't keep up with their explosiveness on offense. When the run game and pass game is that in sync, the Bears will be a very difficult team to beat. Caleb looked great minus 2 poor throws (Kmet and Loveland). He looked noticeably quicker with his decision making, and I loved how he didn't avoid taking off with it himself. Sometimes he needlessly inhibits his own ability to generate yardage when he passes up scramble opportunities... The receivers finally made difficult catches and helped out their quarterback, for once. Defensively, they are horrendous. It's going to be an issue all year. Bryce Young had all day to throw. The defensive tackles, for some reason, were creating a massive hole in the middle by rushing the outside shoulder of both guards. Young killed them on second reaction plays. Anytime he broke the pocket, the Bears DB's couldn't cover anybody. If there is one bright spot on defense, it's that both rookies look very good. All in all, a much needed win to start the season with some tough games coming up. The Bears need to do a better job in their divisional games compared to last year. Next week will be another good test for the offense to prove they are legit.
  14. That wasn’t perfect and plenty to clean up - but talk about a great start of the season!
  15. I’d tell you to be prepared for the cold weather. Then again I’m from AZ and you’re Alaskan perspective might be that it’s hot.
  16. That cheap shot on Kyler Murray’s head should merit a suspension
  17. I like walking the river north area up to Michigan Ave, always a spectacular site for photos with water, architecture, and lights.
  18. As you probably heard I’m heading to Chicago in a few weeks for my first live game at Soldier Field. As a lifelong fan it’s crazy (to me) that I’ve never seen the beloved play in person, let alone at Soldier Field. Seen plenty of other teams over the years, just not Chicago. Wife thought we should go before they move on to wherever they end up next. To say I’m amped would be an understatement. We have a pretty full agenda for this trip but always appreciate any local perspectives if you guys have any. I fully intend to participate in the tailgate stuff so that’s on the list. Any other ideas? I’ll be sure and wave to to all when we’re at the game.
  19. Back in my playing days, after a game of many penalties and mistakes, the first day back to practice would involve hundreds of ‘up down’ drills and bear crawls up hills and such. Occasionally the coach would participate. Something tells me Johnson would be that type of guy.
  20. Pixote replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I respect a HC when he holds his team accountable for their mistakes. I respect them even more when they hold themselves accountable.
  21. They are talking about three plays. You dont lose 39-22 and have it come down to three penalizes.
  22. Halas was a dumbass compared to Johnson. He was conservative and overtly cheap with investing on the infrastructure of the team. For a founding franchise, the Bears haven't won their fair share and that's because of him. Jim Finks, Buddy, then Ditka were more than the family could screw up. Papa Bear will always be a legend, but he sucked in the long run.
  23. Garrett expected to miss 4 games with knee injury.
  24. Haven’t seen much of that game but my Packer neighbors are texting things like ‘the refs suck’ and ‘well sh*t’ so I took that as a good omen.
  25. Yesterday

  26. We got a double whammy today, Packers are getting their ass kicked.
  27. Take some deep breathes and enjoy what we just saw. We have plenty of time to nit pick the team.
