One thing becoming apparent both from a production standpoint and comments in press conferences is that our safety play is definitely improved. The obvious INTs from Bryant lead the way but offensive players like Kmet have talked about how you can feel these guys hanging on your hip as you run your route. Or how quickly they are closing down on running plays. One reporter mentioned seeing Zavion break free on a short route and heading upfield. Normally you’d think that’d go for a TD but Thieneman closed it down from center field. Bryant is taking on a leadership role for the entire secondary, Thieneman is quickly ramping up following his lead. Over many decades the Bears have had a history of good safeties but it’s usually been one good safety. We have to see it play out but we might be seeing the start of something really good with Bryant and Thieneman for years.

True, it is something personal or the team who have announced some type of injury. Considering how bought in Kyle is in the team, it cant be anything small.

When people are looking at how bad or good the D will be, they also have to consider, as you have stated, how good the offense will be . More points puts teams behind and will have to abandon the run quicker and more rest for the D when a time consuming offense.

I am getting 2013 vibes from this offense. Last year's offense was 9th in pts and 6th in yards. In 2013, they were 2nd in pts and 8th in yards. I think this offense will be the first one to be top 5 in both pts and yards. That would be a first for the team in the Super Bowl era. You have to go back to 1965 to find a Bears offense that finished top 5 in both yards and points. That makes it easier on the defense, because if they can play with a lead more often, that puts the other team in more predictable situations. The defense finished 23rd in pts and 29th in yards. I don't expect a huge jump but even if they finish top 20 in both, while the offense ascends, that is the formula for a perennial playoff team.

I am trying to narrow down the live draft window. The best window is Thursday night, September 3rd at 7pm Central through Sunday Night, September 6th at 9pm Central. Defense bounced back on day 4 Coby Bryant is looking like the real deal and led the way. On his INT Jaylon said he was in coverage and when he looked up Coby was right there but he wasn’t expecting him because he wasn’t supposed to be there. Coby saw it and just reacted. Now a day off then the pads come on and the big boys can start playing too.

I am guessing something personal and he will be back once it is taken care of. If it was injury we would know, if he abandoned team he would get placed on a reserve, if he was granted personal time it would be kept personal and wed be left wondering.

Also might not shed tackles like before. A lot of hype to get excited about. I feel giddy about the way this offense is built. Questions about LT? They have layers of players to compete that have experience, traits and they will be fine. They will rotate them early, so what we see now is them getting a taste. This video even mentions how Kiran looked decent, so there is hope for him as well. Fantasy season, man I would love to have Caleb, Loveland, and Burden. Those 3 will dismantle the league and then you have Rome, Swift, Monangai, and Kmet. Can't take Zavion, Jahdae, or Raymond lightly either. The only thing that will hold them back is mental mistakes. With an offense with this potential, the defense can play a different game that can turn that unit around. They can take more risks attacking and DA is great at disguising his pressures to confuse the QB and oline.

weve seen 2nd year offenses before that didnt perform like this. Even when we had Marshall, Jeffries and Benett, we didnt hear that the offense was out in front of the defense out of the gate in camp in year 2? Im with AZ54, this is different and notable.

With all the mistakes Poles has made building this roster, the offense has tremendous depth. WR-QB-TE-OL, the RB position may be the only one with a ? on O if a starter gets hurt. The D has questions but last year was a train wreck with injuries. We may have enough bodies to complement the O which has been the focus since Caleb got here.

This success is what happens when you go into year 2 of an offensive scheme. Barring injuries we have one of the best group of offensive weapons in the league. Players like Raymond and Thomas added to Rome and Burden are going to explode in this offense. Add our TE group and a scheme genius to the mix and bigtime offense.

I can consider it all but none of that changes the fact the offense did something I’ve never seen before this early in camp. It also wasn’t because they were doing all the easy stuff either. If you can pull off all the pre snap movement and timing, post snap timing on routes all while the defense is mixing up coverages then it’s a very good sign Defense needs contact for sure but then at that time the offense will be able to use the running game Right now the defense only has to play against one dimension which gives them a huge coverage advantage

Exactly, and nopads, no contact, so no pass rush either. It cracks me up reading X comments and everyone is bashing Poles about no defense. No praise for Caleb or the O. The Bears finally have a QB, HC, and offensive playmakers to be one of the best offensive team for years. Lets enjoy this leg of the rebuild. The defensive front will get a make over next season when it can free up a lot of cap and re-invest high picks.

You also have to consider that every projected starter on offense, with the exception of OC, was with us last year and is showing that continuity, whereas the defense has 2 new safeties and multiple FA signings and questions remaining about players returning from injuries.
