  2. Heres the Sun Times saying definitively that we wont get the picks. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2025/05/22/bears-joint-practices-bills-dolphins-preseason-opener-date-time-set

    Pick #25

Yes. This sounds like a likely plan. Im not sold on Dayo, but the rest of it sounds right. Hendrickson, Sweat and Booker is a good rotation. A disruptive 3T is a real need, and that could be our #1 pick. Also, the 25th pick is kind of nowhere land. I could see us trading up to take a DT in the teens, or down for extra picks to the bottom of the first, or the early second.

yeah i do think its almost impossible to getting a plus starting OL later than the first round (or maybe a few picks into the 2nd) but Im not sure they wont sing a free agent for that. Or ride with Thuney at LT and McFadden or whomever at LG until Trapilo is back. I hope thats not what they do, its better if Thuney plays his natural position all year, but the Bears have options other than a first round pick is all Im saying.
  5. totally agree. the whole thing is nonsense. but Ill take any picks i can get!

  7. And to be clear I have to think the NFL will get this right cause this is just a bunch of nonsense if the don’t reward Bears with the 2 picks. But hey it’s gotten to this point so maybe I am wrong.

    Pick #25

Ozzy Trapilo and Sherman Turners injuries threw a wrench into the process. One established themselves at a premium position but is likely missing the next season or majority. The other was just getting into the mix and didn't get much established. Would have been good to see his fit. With the personal we have at DE and how DA schemes pressure, I can see them use those early picks on the interior dline. That day 1 of the draft will be hard since we are used to drafting the first half.
  9. Congrats to Ian and shame on the league if it does end up this way. I really hope league comes to their senses here.

I think we see them go with a vet Lt or maybe even trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for one. I think first round will be best available defense - think dt is probably where they will go. I see a safety or LB with one of next 2 picks. If it were me I’d find a way to sign Hendrickson to short term deal (cap be damn) and roll with young dt, getting ayo back, shemar back and the rest of the crew knowing a bunch of cap space rolls off the following year.

We need safeties too but BJ values that line. They will address both. One of the first 3 picks will be a LT , probably the 1st. You were always the one to say you need to draft in the first round.
  12. Best free agent move for sure but you can't top the Carolina trade . Or his best move hiring BJ.
  13. If he just learns to take the rocket booster off the short passes, that's 5 points right there.
  14. A lot of smart people saying we aren't getting any. At least the league can explain why. GM job isn't just a a coffee carrying job for Ryan.
  15. But in any case Cunningham is gone to be GM in Atlanta
  16. And NBC reported it too, based on Finley above. Im not saying that makes it true. Im saying its something thats being discussed, and to keep our eyes on. Also, if that is the ruling, expect the Bears to appeal. And *IF* it is true, then the Bears could have blocked the "lateral" move too. But I wouldnt expect they would do that. That how you lose other people wanting to come to your franchise. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/falcons-hire-ian-cunningham-as-new-g-m
  17. Ben Johnson, I believe, was the one that set the bar for Caleb at 70% when he came to Chicago. Having worked with Goff he saw how much that could overall improve the game. Since Goff joined the Lions here's how he's trended: Interestingly, Johnson didn't start as the OC with Detroit until 2022 when you notice a dip from 2021-22 then back up again gradually until Johnson left at the end of the 24 season. Goff has always been a pretty decent passer. What kills him is his lack of mobility. He gets REALLY erratic after he's been hit a few times. I thought it interesting to see Williams had a 62.5% passer completion rate his rookie year (this despite his insane number of sacks). But then with his first year under Johnson dropped to 58%. I suspect he's tracking similar to how Lawrence is and get back to mid, maybe high 60% next year. And maybe in his third year of the system (like Stinger mentioned) we'll see him closer if not surpassing the 70% mark. NOTE: Drew Brees currently holds the record percentage rate at 74.4 (2018) so its not totally out of reach. A handful of guys have surpassed 70% in the 'modern era' in more than one season so again, nothing says Williams couldn't join them.

  19. Id argue it was that 1st pick for DJ and Caleb +.
  20. This is the first time this will be awarded. Would be cool for Thuney to get it. Arguably Poles' best trade.

    Pick #25

100% concur. Caleb seems to be a fastball pitcher only. It’s great and works a lot. Reminds me of Nolan Ryan early in his career. But just like ole’ Nolan, gotta develop the off speed pitch to be great.

    Pick #25

Whatever the need at LT is, maybe great - it doesnt change that we desperately also need a pass rush.
  23. Look at Burden perfectly fitting and exceeding DJs role and he is just slightly below Aman-Ra, same for man, and slightly less vs zone. And theres Odunze looking VERY good. Gotta spend time with the jugs machine this offseason Rome.
  24. Stinger226

    Pick #25

    I don't think she's wrong.
  25. Him and Burden play the same position. I don't think that was ever a thought.
  26. AZ54

    Bears Free Agents

3 KC receivers clustered together in the bad-bad quadrant.
  27. The most promising part is that there is room to grow because his comp% is so low. However, if in Maye's case, he is already at 72%, the only place to go is down from there as that is not a sustainable rate in the NFL.
