Defense took the day for sure but I would bet my house we scored more points against Seattle than NE did. We are on the right track. If we get 100% health of JJ, Gordon, and Terrell Smith. Plus our starting LBs and we are already better. A healthy Turner, Dayo and a whole year of Jarrett at 100% may help the DL but we clearly have to add more on the DL. We need better depth because we are never going to have complete health.

One take away from the game is Defense still wins with a great running game. Darnold, a mediocre plus QB with those two factors can win. This is not saying a great QB cannot. The Bears need to get their defense upgraded and eventually a top tier RB that can take control of the game. This somewhat says 2 years out, but anything can happen.

I agree with this. I didnt walk away thinking Bad Bunny was a great musician - I always love Raggaeton beats, but he didnt invent that or anything. The producers of the show did an amazing job. Like you say, the staging and all was exceptional. And i am glad they didnt lecture or make it political (much) but its not like Im gonna stream Bad Bunny any time soon either.

Drake Maye just finished off the worst stretch of games in playoff history for a quarterback to make it to a Superbowl. 21 sacks, 7 fumbles are both NFL records. The Patriots came into the game already having scored the fewest combined points of any SB team during their playoff run. Turns out, conventional wisdom won the day. Patriots were schedule merchants throughout the regular season and rode an extremely fortuitous stretch of injury luck in the playoffs all the way to a Superbowl they really had no business being in. Also, Will Cambell's arms are too freakin short to play LT.

As far as the game goes I was hoping no team scored a TD just making it ironic having changed the rules to favor offense. Maye is the second best QB of that year but had a bad game and we have the best and will be in a SB in the next two years. IMO I didn't know if we could have beaten Seattle this year but definitely think we would have beaten NE.

The NFL had Bunny because of his global exposure and want to expand their views but was disrespectful to the USA fan base. If it had him with a mix of musicians in English it would have been fine but picked an anti American figure that pissed off half their audience. I saw one BB video where he's burning the flag. Why bring a controversial figure with so many great choices to choose from? It was a great production but had a couple of political statements in that production. I've seen Kid Rock before and it's a great show, so I choose something I liked instead of something I didn't understand in Spanish. The halftime show should have artists where fans know the songs. I've been to tons of concerts and 25,000 people singing along with a song is great energy. Lots of different genres fit that . The alternative halftime show was the second most watched live show of all time on YouTube but of course it dwarfs the BB show because that was attached to a SB game. Maybe this wakes up the NFL to have artists everyone can like instead of alienating half their audience.

Music and movies have been generally crap for the last 20 years. Every now and then there is a gem, but for the most part it is all slop now. I had no interest in any halftime events, but I am glad others enjoyed them in different ways.

Calling that music is being generous. Calling that singing is being even more generous except for the non-bunny artists who can actually sing. I agree on the stage and thematic scenes being very well done. Nobody really knows what he was saying/singing and I am surrounded by native Spanish language people at home and work.

I watched the other halftime show, but recorded the game. After viewing the NFL halftime, my opinion stays the same. The NFL chose potential growth and greed over the majority of it's loyal fans. This may be the nail in Goodell's coffin. People are already pissed about the streaming and such.(BTW, I agree with Lucky). My buddy in Germany is pissed because there is only one game there this year. For each German game, last year, there were 500k people actively pursuing tickets the day they were released. So Goodell says, "we've hooked Germany", let's go elsewhere. My friend couldn't even watch the game last night because they were doing pay per view. About the performance. The performance, choreography and music was good. I simply can't get past the fact that many other artists would have put on a much more relatable show. It's not just the singing in Spanish, because I love me some Three Tenors. They and like artists perform songs we've heard throughout our lifetime and they do it with so much passion that I can feel it in my chest.(Jim Cornelison on the anthem). Bocceli opening the Olympics, the whole world felt! There's the difference for me. Viva Italia! So, meh is my vote.

Pats are about to have one of the biggest falls from grace in recent memory. Next year they play the NFC North and AFC West. So besides their division, they play CHI, GB, DET, MIN, DEN, LAC, KC, JAX, and PIT. Considering the 2 games against BUF, that is 11 tough games. Who knows what MIA will look like with real coaching, so their only easy games are against NYJ, and LVR, and LVR will also look a lot different? I will go out on a limb and say they will finish at 8-9 and miss the playoffs, and that may even be generous considering their schedule.

So the Coach of the Year and the MVP Runner-Up put up that type of performance in a Super Bowl? In the NFCC, Stafford put up over 370 Passing Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, with only 1 sack, against SEA, and still lost. Seattle literally played the game knowing they were going to win unless they had a bad turnover or special teams blunder. That is such an indictment on Vrabel (entire coaching staff) and Maye. Vrabel had a chance to get the deficit to 11, but decided to kick an XP when that point was worthless. Then when the game is so far out of reach, he goes for 2, lol. If there ever was a discussion about strength of schedule, you can point to the 2025 Patriots as the poster children.

The halftime show was excellent. It was positive and upbeat, and not political, and the production was probably the most logistically complicated one ever. I mean, for example, Paul McCartney is the greatest, and id rather go to his concert than Bad Bunny's, but Id rather watch the production they made for Bad Bunny, than Paul standing there singing songs i like and have heard a million times. The staging and camerawork was SO impressive. Never seen anything like it in a "filmed live" production.

Game was entertaining enough for me and the fam here in Hawaii . Most everyone here was for the Hawks and from what I heard, loved the halftime show. Darnold is the first Qb from the 2018 draft class to play in and win a SB. Maye is the first of the 2024 class to play in one. Stats be damned.

He is definitely one that can disrupt a good pass rush. I still love Maye, but Caleb is our guy. He would have been the X factor.

My biggest takeaway from this game is that we drafted the right QB. That includes all I've seen throughout the playoffs.
-
I was told my pre-draft analysis of his ability to play LT was wrong....I was very happy he was off the board so early.

Terrible Super Bowl. One of the worst ever. So boring.

Will Campbell is getting killed. I've heard his name like he is a skill position player.

Honestly, I would sit with Caleb and dissect this game. Learning what a Superbowl defense looks like could help hone his pursuit of perfection.
