That is funny...don't care who you are. Hopefully he can do more of the same this Saturday. I'd like to see a little more out of him...consistency wise.
-
Lol, saw that yesterday. I like the Jackson pick, where Sanders just stood and watched with zero effort to help tackle. What a douche...
- Today

Or you can say he's Alvin Harper and the price skyrockets...

I believe Ryan Poles has a position value model. RB safety and LB are not first round positions unless you absolutely have a blue chip player. Any of those that are blue chip are likely long gone before pick 20+. I just canāt see him valuing any of those players over the DEs or DTs that are likely to be on the board when we pick. I think he keeps doing what heās done since heās been here: draft a RB on day 3. Before the draft weāll know how they feel about Edmundās and DJack. Hipólyte is going to be a question mark. I expect they will believe they have their top 3 starters and just need to add depth but a stud could easily fall to us in Rd 2.

Huge game tonight for the NFC. The winner has the highest odds to be the #1 seed. The loser doesn't have a bad consolation ending up as the #5 seed and trip to TB or CAR for the Wild Card round. However, if SEA wins, the Bears have a real shot at the #1 seed.
-
Line down to GB -1. Most of the money is coming in on the CHI side. I would not be surprised if this slides to even favor the Bears by 1 by game time.

Part of this will be determined by the outcome of this season. If someone like DJ is a key contributor late in the season and into the playoffs, it would make it harder to move on from him. That rarely happens. However, if they somehow don't make the playoffs, or are one and done, and DJ is not a main contributor, then moving away from him is easier to do.
-
Yeah, Moody as well. Next Man Up Year.

Or draft one (rb) early if there is a player that adds explosive play potential. Johnson wants players all over the field, offense/defense, that have that. He had an acronym that I tried to look up. Just because we need DE/DT/S doesnt mean we draft them round 1. They will take the best player that they like.

We'll see with Watson. He might play but also be limited when he does. Whatever his injury is, it is an odd one since he spent a night in a hospital after the game. Is he really going to be ready to take another hit this weekend? Does he have full range of motion on his bad shoulder? I expect Josh Jacobs to do what he always does on the field. https://packerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2025/12/17/packers-wr-christian-watson-to-practice-hes-fighting-to-play-vs-bears/87811544007/ Like you, I also expect Luther will play as his injury doesn't sound too serious. Jahdae Walker is going to get a lot of practice reps this week with Caleb. If Pro-Football-Reference is correct he's had a total of 8 offensive snaps with no catches. I hope he's ready.

Pretty good for a backup, and IIRC we've had another backup in Nashon Wright who also earned this award. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/bears/2025/12/17/bears-dmarco-jackson-named-nfc-defensive-player-of-week/87811764007/

Bad news day for the Bears. Odunze and Burden both aren't practicing again, which doesn't bode well for Saturday. However, Christian Watson was practice for GB and has already said he's playing, as is Josh Jacobs.... If all Burden has is a low ankle sprain, he cannot allow that to keep him out of this game. I'm going to be pretty pissed if he sits this out, but then comes back next week. Now is not the time to take a week off to get 100%. In my eyes, any injury that isn't serious enough to keep you out multiple weeks is an injury you should play through at this point in the season. Playoffs and the division are on the line now. -
I feel like the team will want to keep DJ around but there has always been something amiss with him in this offense. From being moved early on to taking snaps in the backfield, which he still does at times, to the poor production and lack of connection with Caleb in the first half of the season. Was DJ not making the right adjustments to his routes earlier in the season? DJ just seems like the most obvious trade candidate. I don't think they do that for a draft pick it would be for a DE/DT that improves the pass rush and I could also see a trade for safety. Safeties are cheap so we'd clear cap space, and adding a good starter gives us more flexibility in the draft. Might get a 3rd or 4th Rd pick tossed in the deal too.

Tuesday injury report looks similar to what it did last time we played them. At least the ratio of number of players. Notable is that Burden is listed as DNP yesterday and still no Odunze it appears. In their side, Jacobs listed as DNP along with Watson. Rookie WR Golden listed as Full. -
I would almost bet against this. With the emergence of Burden, that kicks DJ to 3. Don't forget Jahdae Walker, he really impressed in the pre season. He's 6'3 and faster than DJ and 22 million cheaper.

Enter Terrell Smith and Tyreek Stevenson. CJGJ can probably play there too. The key is a healthy Gordon...š¤š¼
-
I donāt care if CJGJ is back next year. He doesnāt have the athleticism nor discipline to be a starter. Heās a backup and Iād offer him vet. min if he wants to stick around. One of the things hurting this defense is a lack of speed at safety.

DJ is showing his value with Rome being injured. He's now a target that Caleb is looking for. IMO, next year I think we have a SB run so I don't think their trading offensive weapons. I think, unfortunately, Edmunds may be the big money guy traded. Demarco Jackson was given PPF defense player of the week. We can sign Jackson for 4 to 5 mil where Edmunds will have a 17.4 mil cap hit. In a trade we can pick up 15 mil in Cap space. They drafted Hyppolite that will be in the picture. I also think , both being 27, they may just redo Edmunds (last year of contract) next year. He was playing like a pro bowl LBer and since next year will be a SB run, keep him around. It's obvious, DA knows how to use him. The key for next year will be bringing back Byard, Gardener-Johnson and maybe DuShon. Wright. G-J can play SS. Don't forget Terrell Smith is still around and was playing well. People like Dayo and Jarrett cost to much without big performances. Doubt anyone trades for them . As I've stated before, lots of contract reconstructions and the draft will probably be our options for 2026.

ha love it without any evidence, just in my gut, I'll bet they will be more aggressive about this than we think. I have no idea what that will be though, but it wouldnt shock me to have two new starters on the DL, and even more new faces in the rotation.

Monangai did lead the Big10 in rushing, so that itself should have made him known. The guy may not have the best speed but contact balance, vision, and drive to go with pass pro and ball security make him solid. Eric Bienemy did scream and pound for him since he was at UCLA and coached against him a couple of times.
