  1. Past hour
  2. I did summer reading on Diggs. It seems from comments from Jerry Jones is that he's not practicing like he's healthy.
  3. Today
  4. The only reason I care about 4000 yards, is so people can shut up about it. 4k yards is such an unimportant stat. If you look balanced offenses; passing, rushing, sustained drives and TOP matter. We do well and are improving on those. When we get better in the red zone the offense will be unstoppable.
  5. That's a common sense idea but with Geno Smith getting paid a lot of money with no out until 27, he probably sets for a year limiting the advantage of bringing in Thuney. Plus I see no way BJ is disturbing our OL after just getting a good one.
  6. Doubt that happens this year but with the connections, very possible for next year. I didn't realize he was 27. Al Harris can change his luck around.
  7. We do agree on stuff sometimes.
  8. QBs come and go and every once in a while, an Aaron Rodgers pops up. We now could have that next great one playing in our house. Thank you Ryan Poles for Caleb and BJ, I think we won the lottery.
  9. Aikman wasnt a bad QB, but he doesnt make anyone's top 10 greatest either. Caleb has the possibility to be a top 10 QB. It's not guaranteed or anything, but he looks like he is on his way.
  10. I lived in Texas and watched a lot of Aikmans first season in the NFL. He was nothing close to Caleb in his first season. Both had bad teams around them and bad coaches. Aikman threw 18 INTs. Now that I went and looked it up his career completion % was just 61%.
  11. I understand why you're cautious or cynical, after all we've been through, i understand your reluctance to buy in. But this is different - Ben Johnson is clearly a different kind of coach, and the expectations for the offense are higher than we've seen here before. Caleb's already got some real highlight film throws that the others on the list dont have. And he only learned how to drop correctly from center since May or June. He's special avoiding pressure, and scrambling. He makes incredible off platform throws, and in the last couple weeks you can see his internal clock is calm. Hes operating within himself, and finding receivers on time, when they are open. I dont begrudge you your caution - I'm just saying, come on in - the water is warm - it's safe to risk your heart again! LOL If he keeps developing, there won't be much left to worry about. He's already right on the cusp of greatness.
  12. He and Emmitt Smith both benefited from that Offensive Line. They were unusually stacked because of the Herschel Walker trade. Also, Aikman is going to regret getting into a tussle with Caleb.
  13. for sure, just as Burden makes Moore expendable, for example. I just meant you're always trying to push assets into the future a year early to get the most return, and keep the pump primed.
  14. Aikman does not belong in that group. Always has been overrated.

    Trevon Diggs Cut

Hard to say where this fits in with it: "Diggs has dealt with injuries in 2025, limiting him to only eight games. When he’s been on the field, his performance hasn’t resembled his All-Pro showing from earlier in his career. Still, if a team wants some extra CB depth ahead of the postseason, there won’t be higher-upside options than the 27-year-old".
  16. That's fair, but Williams, Trubisky, and Fields are not in the same stratosphere. I can't tell you how many times we were told about Mitch going from 101 to 201, taking the training wheels off. I think we are well past that point with Williams. Williams is the first QB in NFL history to start a career with more than 7K Passing yards, 800 Rush yards, with more than 40 Pass TDs and fewer than 15 INTs through their first 33 games. One other QB has put up those numbers in a 33-game span in their entire careers, once by Josh Allen. Caleb has done it in his first 33 games. With 229 Passing Yards, Caleb will hit 7,500 in his first two seasons. With one TD, he will be at 50 (Pass+Rush+Rec). With 24 Rushing Yards, he will hit 900. That would be over 8,400 Pass+Rush Yards in his first two years, averaging 4,200 per year with 25 TDs. Those are franchise QB numbers, and that's his floor.

    Trevon Diggs Cut

I haven't looked it up but someone posted that Diggs has a 158.3 QB Rating against, the worst in the NFL. If that is true, you literally can't get any worse and he obvious has other things going on in his life to be that bad on the field.

    Top 4 Receivers

Ageee. Studs won’t want to come here because they’ll get 60 catches as the #1. But subpar guys can come here and rejuvenate their career.

    Top 4 Receivers

Yes I agree but I’d say that good teams are the ones that already a good replacement on the roster when they make that decision.
  20. I didn't know that back story and it does mean a lot. To Stingers point of why would the Raiders do that? The answer is simple: protect the new franchise QB while building the future.
  21. Obvious connection to Al Harris and if I don't have to see McCloud on the field in the playoffs I'd consider that a blessing. He'd be a coverage upgrade over Stevenson too. He's not likely going anywhere for a single game so does he want to play with a playoff team? Can he play in the slot because CJGJ can't cover anyone? https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/12/more-on-cowboys-decision-to-cut-trevon-diggs
  22. Thuney had his choice of destinations and requested to play for Ben Johnson. There is no way I can see Poles disrespecting the future HoF player by casting him off after one very successful season. That would send a really bad message to other good veteran FAs around the league, many of whom choose to chase a ring late in their career.
  23. From the Raiders point of view, Thuney probably has 2 yrs left , why would Raiders want a high salary player when it's at least 2 yrs away from being respectable? I think any rebuilding team will want draft picks. I also thing we are at the beginning of a high powered offense and I don't think BJ is giving away offense assets to disrupt the flow of what he's built. The best OL we have, Thuney? Any weapons? Injuries this yr shows you need more than 3 Wrs and I TE. Zacchus and Devin will be gone next year.
  24. Like Mongo said, being home is the key. West coast teams coming here would be an advantage to us. Out of our control anyways.
  25. This was a goal set by Johnson, not me. He had it with Goff so that's his measure. Will Caleb make it? I actually think he can.
  26. True that. How he wasn't injured after being sacked 60+ times last year is by itself amazing.
  27. I’ll answer on behalf of “some people.” Your point is taken—yes, he’s done well and is clearly making solid progress toward bigger and better things. Without digging too deep into the weeds, but using some simple comparisons, I’ll just say this: we’ve been here before. And let it be known I won't deny the talent that Caleb so far has exhibited. Trubisky, in only his second year, won the NFC North and helped secure the #2 seed in 2018. (And in 2020, he technically got us back into the playoffs—albeit backing in at 8–8 as the #7 seed.) Jay Cutler in his second year with Chicago, led the team to the NFC Championship Game in 2010. Rex Grossman in his third year, got the Bears to the playoffs and their first Super Bowl appearance in 25 years. Jim McMahon despite being injured during his second season (1984), QB’d the Bears to Super Bowl XX in his third year with the team. What’s common among all these guys (aside from maybe Trubisky)? They—and their teams—ultimately became one-hit wonders. You’ve heard the phrase “once bitten, twice shy”? That’s me as a long suffering Bears fan. I love what’s happening right now, but I’ve been down this road too many times to assume it’ll last. That said—and as I said at the beginning of this ramble—right here, right now, I’m genuinely enjoying the ride. I really hope I’m wrong and after this year, we continue to trend upwards.
