  2. i think this is another example of how stats don't always capture the full picture, and aren't (or shouldn't be) a goal in and of themselves. Good stats come with winning, and sometimes how you win makes the stats look lesser. Winning is the only stat that really matters.
  3. Yeah, get the 4K, then it becomes a non-story. Then we can talk about 5K lol.

    Top 4 Receivers

    Burden just needs more targets.
  6. Odunze probably ends up close to 1,000 yards if he never got injured, but otherwise, this equality of numbers for these receivers is really impressive. Very curious to see if Burden eventually becomes the Amon Ra of this offense next year. It kind of feels like he's in the middle of a potential breakout that is coming at the perfect time. His last three games against the Packers, Browns, and 49'ers: Packers: 4 catches, 67 yards Browns: 6 catches, 84 yards 49'ers: 8 catches, 138 yards, 1 TD He's improved in each game, becoming more of a focal point of the offense. If he can close out the year strong against DET, you go into the playoffs feeling really good about this offense, especially with Odunze coming back.

    Top 4 Receivers

Just saw this posted in an article on SI.com. Further proof (although none was needed at this point in the season) that Burden was indeed a brilliant selection by the Bears.

    Trevon Diggs Cut

Clip from NFL.com article: I also found this when the original story of his release occured: Sure, he may be worth a gamble, but I can't believe his injury problems and, as a result, poor play will disappear.
  9. Diggs has been terrible this year, not sure he can help anybody for a few games. He's young enough to take a chance next year he regains form. The DB coach in GB was his college coach. That might have been a stronger connection for him.
  10. One thing I've noticed is that they haven't used CJGJ in the blitz role lately. That may come up in the playoffs...

    Trevon Diggs Cut

They know our secondary has been depleted and they liked picking on CJGJ in the last game. I can’t help but think keeping him off the Bears was part of the calculation.
  12. This video explains why being negative may be a short sighted point of view.

    Trevon Diggs Cut

I figured some playoff team would add him on a cheap deal not on his current contract. I imagine there is still a cheap cut with minimal cap hit after this season but I just haven’t seen this scenario before.
  14. Here's a complete look at the off season and will say I agree with some and not with others moves. I'll post my view after I study the draft more but this is a first look at the off season.

  16. If you claim him off waivers you bring his contract where as if you sign him as a free agent, new contract. . None of his contract is guaranteed going forward. Cheap opportunity.
  17. Looks like Green Bay pounced on him. Two former Dallas players now injured on their team. Two-time Pro Bowl Trevon Diggs quickly lands with new team

    Trevon Diggs Cut

He was getting cut anyway Jerry just wanted to send a message doing it a week early. Cowboys as usual are a mess. I don’t know that we should get involved with Diggs but I’m certain that Al Harris has already made some phone calls to figure out what’s going on. i hope Jerry gives George Pickens a big contract extension because I’m enjoying the show.
  19. I did summer reading on Diggs. It seems from comments from Jerry Jones is that he's not practicing like he's healthy.
  20. The only reason I care about 4000 yards, is so people can shut up about it. 4k yards is such an unimportant stat. If you look balanced offenses; passing, rushing, sustained drives and TOP matter. We do well and are improving on those. When we get better in the red zone the offense will be unstoppable.
  21. That's a common sense idea but with Geno Smith getting paid a lot of money with no out until 27, he probably sets for a year limiting the advantage of bringing in Thuney. Plus I see no way BJ is disturbing our OL after just getting a good one.
  22. Doubt that happens this year but with the connections, very possible for next year. I didn't realize he was 27. Al Harris can change his luck around.
  23. We do agree on stuff sometimes.
  24. QBs come and go and every once in a while, an Aaron Rodgers pops up. We now could have that next great one playing in our house. Thank you Ryan Poles for Caleb and BJ, I think we won the lottery.
  25. Aikman wasnt a bad QB, but he doesnt make anyone's top 10 greatest either. Caleb has the possibility to be a top 10 QB. It's not guaranteed or anything, but he looks like he is on his way.
  26. I lived in Texas and watched a lot of Aikmans first season in the NFL. He was nothing close to Caleb in his first season. Both had bad teams around them and bad coaches. Aikman threw 18 INTs. Now that I went and looked it up his career completion % was just 61%.
  27. I understand why you're cautious or cynical, after all we've been through, i understand your reluctance to buy in. But this is different - Ben Johnson is clearly a different kind of coach, and the expectations for the offense are higher than we've seen here before. Caleb's already got some real highlight film throws that the others on the list dont have. And he only learned how to drop correctly from center since May or June. He's special avoiding pressure, and scrambling. He makes incredible off platform throws, and in the last couple weeks you can see his internal clock is calm. Hes operating within himself, and finding receivers on time, when they are open. I dont begrudge you your caution - I'm just saying, come on in - the water is warm - it's safe to risk your heart again! LOL If he keeps developing, there won't be much left to worry about. He's already right on the cusp of greatness.
