I’m hearing from my Packer “friends” they were all sure that Tune (their third stringer) would start. Reports say it was a close call and because they didn’t sign another QB (with Love ruled out) they speculate that Willis is the starter but ‘questionably’. Evidently he may have been hurt during that last sack from Sweat at the end of regulation and also dealing with some sort of illness(?). I feel really good about the Ravens’ chances tonight.
-
Right. That's the way you do it. You want a pipeline of young players, and you replace the older steady vets with young guys, and youll always have extra draft picks that way from trading the vets. Of course it means getting rid of good players too, but the Patriots proved the way to do it. The only thing is you HAVE to be able to develop those younger players into good replacements. If you can do that consistently, then you can have a stocked roster for many years.

If/when the Bears beat SF, Will they have anything left to play for against Seattle?
-
WTF is nfelo? Is it a web series from Wisconsin?

We are use to always taking about next year because we were losers but this year is different. Our floor is make the playoffs and lose our first game. That will still be a successful season but what if our ceiling is the SB and we actually will have a whole different outlook on future asset and acquisitions. I suspect the conversation will be who can try and bring back . Clearly our DL will still need some upgrades but think it will be with draft picks and not getting rid of players in trades.
-
Then I hope he gets blasted on the first possession. It’s not enough for the packers to lose. They must suffer.
-
Concur, especially bolded. Same as the offense; build an awesome line and the rest benefits, but the reverse isn’t necessarily true. No shocker that the OL FINALLY got some love and we’re trending significantly upward. Build the DL and the rest can be Kwiatkoski, Sanborn, etc.
-
I’d hate to lose DJ or Kmet. I wasn’t really a fan of drafting Burden. And I despised the Loveland. On the other hand, I’ve always complemented the Patriots for getting rid of players before significant skill deterioration or unnecessarily punitive cap hit. So, maybe the Bears are leaning towards multi-year success?
-
Yeah, not taking the bait. Just please stop.

Poles shot his load last year for the next two years of Cap space. The OL cost hit a home run but the Jarrett and Dayo money is a bust this year. Jarrett and Dayo don't have outs on their contracts until 27 so they are here next year. Booker is getting better and Turner will be healthy. Sweat isn't a top 10 Edge but is still a double digit sacker. 1/2 sack short this year with 2 games left. Poles is not discarding this group but will add to it in the draft and maybe by FA or trade. I think he will play with money and bring in a FA instead of all the trade proposals on here. I think with Caleb progressing next year we have a highest scoring team in the league potential and will not deal any offensive assets. Just my opinion.
-
I took off the ignore button because it's been peaceful and thought we could just give our opinions and not have you calling me having a different opinion as being aggressive and ( don't like my tone) but of course you will never change. I responded to a A Bear post and you jump right jump in and say that's false information. In any trade scenario you have dead money to go with cap saving. I just tried to make that point. If you don't want to deal with me stopping taking about me when you post and we can get along just fine. Let's get to the conversation instead of your attempt to argue. I hope we bring in someone to but I don't think Poles is trading away many assets and first round picks for a Garrett or Crosby. I think he redoes contracts and maybe get rid of Edmunds cap number and brings in Hendeichson. Costs us no assets. I'm not sure who else is out there.
-
I agree, Garrett is the better player, but either of them would make a huge difference.
-
I like this board. I prefer not to debate with you Stinger. Your tone is already aggressive, and I would prefer to just not deal with you. nothing good comes of it. I put those figures for everyone else, so we can all make our own guesses at what the team might do. Personally, I think if we can land Crosby or Garrett, we should do it. Then the team will be fully dimensional. With the offense we are building, we need to compliment it with a defense, and specifically a pass rush. Let's get em next year with Deyo isn't going to cut it. We need greatness on the D line to make us into a real killer. Johnson knows this, and so does Poles. How they will do that, i don't know. But that's where cap savings would have to come from if we were going to do something like that.

Raiders are taking care of their future draft picks by making sure Crosby avoid serious injury in the last two games. Cleveland is a wild card here because they have to decide if they want to go after one of the two top QBs. NY Giants at 1st overall do not need a DE in Myles Garrett so that trade and a swap of 1st likely won't work. Raiders will definitely not move off their spot. If they can't get a QB does Garrett want to play there? Do you let that play out after the draft? If I'm giving up two firsts I'd do it for Garrett over Crosby.
-
Please. Dont fight. I put BOTH numbers up there: before June 1st and post June 1st. The Bottom line is like I said https://overthecap.com/player/d-j-moore/6909
-
I did, you are using everything post June numbers. The difference between us is I think trades will happen around the draft, you are using everything Post June. You can not designate trades after June if you do earlier like cuts.
-
Unless Cincinnati puts a tag on Hendrickson, he's a free agent next year. Cleveland and Vegas are in rebuild mode which means they could trade them players but more likely for draft picks. Not sure why they would trade for high priced assets when it's at least 2 years before they will be good again.
-
Youre using it wrong. Im using the same resource. You have to set it to trade.
-
I am using OTC cap information . Do you have other sources to verify your stats? If there are any trades they will probably happen around draft time not post June.

That all sounds good. Find me 3 teams that will want to trade for JJ, DJ and Kmet. You can cut Edmunds and resign D Jackson that will have a probably 5 mil cost in 26. You have dead money of 34 mil you have to account for for 26 alone if all those transactions happen. From Poles outlook, do you think he thinks losing DJ, Kmet, JJ and Edmunds, and at least 2 first round draft picks is worth signing Crosby? I think he will try sign a Hendrickson as a better option than that complicated scenario. Crosby only has a 1/2 sack more than Sweat does right now this year. Booker is a potential young Maxx Crosby being the same size with a no stop motor. I do think they try to add a pass rusher but not sure it's with the cost of 6 assets.
-
Just for everyone reading, those numbers arent true. If we Trade DJ, we open up $16.5M, and if the trade is a post June 1st trade, then it opens up $24.5M in space.
-
Crosby has 10 sacks this year. Sweat has 9.5. Crosby only had 7.5 sacks last year. He's a damn good player, but he seems to get injured a lot. I don't think I would feel as good about investing in him as you guys do. If I'm going to trade players to open cap space and give up draft picks, it would be for Trey Hendrickson or Garret, not Crosby.
