Whoever the trainer is in Chicago needs to not have a job anymore. Completely unacceptable to have so many players missing time with soft tissue injuries. If Gordon and Johnson can't play, I have no idea what Dennis Allen can do to salvage the defense in this game. They won't have enough bodies to be in Dime, and playing Dime against a team that runs a lot of 2 and 3 TE sets is usually not a good strategy anyways... I think they might have to borrow a page out of Brian Flores' playbook and start run blitzing on early downs with their DB's to account for the lack of quality LB'ers. If the Bears are going to win this game, they might have to score 40+ again, like in CIN.

Edmunds, Edwards, and Sewell are all out for Sunday. Another entire position group gone. This is gonna be ugly. It is not like the D-Line can pick up the slack or the secondary can cover up the LB weaknesses. TEs and RBs are going to have a field day against Hyppolite and Practice Squad LB. Not good.

I was writing my reply and didn't see yours until I posted.

There are way too many variables to account for to evenly compare two different games, even though that's what we do. Weather, injuries, officials, home/away, rest. You almost have to treat each week as if both teams are 0-0. Any Given Sunday is real.
-
Any given Sunday is very true. We could be overlooked and under prepared for by our opponent. We could call and execute a perfect or flawed game. We could get breaks or get hosed by the officials. What we can control is our attitude. The right attitude, leads to better focus and intensity. Those traits lead to better practice and study habits. Repetition of those lead to consistent execution. We are seeing this at the end of games lately. The team is learning to win. I personally believe that the fold part is over. Don't get me wrong. We can still take an ass whooping, but we aren't gonna lie down for it anymore. Bear down!

I don't think anyone is out there saying this Bears team is a finished product. It's just year 1 of this coaching staff and turnaround. I don't know any Bears fan that think we're a Superbowl contender. Everyone I talk to is just happy that we now have a roster that no longer quits in close games and that our offense keeps getting better each week. I'm still not accustomed to all the chunk plays we get each game but 3rd and 10-15 is no longer the death sentence it has been for many years.

I saw a recent post earlier today that was on an NFC trash-talking site I visit occasionally. Someone posted the W/L record of every NFL team against teams with winning records. For the Bears they showed "0%" . Considering I find myself easily tricked by social media and AI I decided to take a look (with ironically some help from AI). Of the teams they've played so far: Even though the Bears currently face the second-hardest schedule in the NFL, they still haven't beaten a team thatβs above .500. Pittsburgh will be the first real test to show how βlegitβ this group is. As a lot of people have pointed out, theyβve managed to get this far despite a pile of injuriesβespecially on defenseβso getting guys like Johnson and Gordon back will be huge. The big question is whether the team has actually made the offensive progress that many claim, or if theyβll fold once they start facing opponents who are truly gearing up for the playoffs. I ask that somewhat rhetorically, because last night Houston absolutely throttled BuffaloβAllen got sacked eight times. It just reinforces that this season feels wide open, and as the old saying goes, βAny Given Sunday.β

LOL...I see what you did there. Unless...you mean to suggest they're trading their #1 pick?

I always got the animosity towards me, after he went to name calling I pushed back but he seems to attack members for no reason at all but just to be an asshole. Your point was correct and he always twisted things I said to butt heads with me. I always tried to reason with him on our discussion but he always took it to fight mode. I always felt bad because 95% on here are always reasonable and still can have disagreements. He calls you out for no reason at all, I think he likes conflict and pushes conversations to that point. Mongo can be stirred up but he always goes back to reasonable conversation. It just comes down to name calling and he always went there first with me and then I got involved in calling him out in the same manner. I dont see his responses and he still pulls me into stuff and Im not even part of the conversation. He did commit 80% of the conflict and I am sorry I went there because you guys dont deserve the chaos it created.Β Β

I don't think full participant necessarily means he's playing. There's a lot to football conditioning and one Thur practice followed by a light Fri practice isn't enough in my opinion.

Great news for JJ, looks like he is playing this weekend:

He must be giving you a hard time for any support you may have given me. It's okay , you can never have a discussion with that type of person. I'm not seeing anything he says anyways, so it just doesnt matter. . Let him say what ever he wants. Interesting to see this considering he was a draft option for us. https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/steelers/2025/11/20/steelers-arthur-smith-kaleb-johnson-usage-week-12/87376831007/

Oh and one more thing, I went back and reread - I didnt call anyone on this board a "moron" I said PUNDITS - meaning blogsters, and sports writers who trash Caleb without understanding what theyre seeing are morons. And I didnt even call a member dumb - I called an IDEA dumb. You're both overracting. Calling me by name, when I didnt do that at all. We talk about respecting people's opinions here - that oughtta go for all of us, myself included. If someone wants to disagree or debate that's fine, but don't threaten me with a ban for calling an idea dumb or not agreeing with you. I get you may still be mad from before, but Im not the one that stirred all this up, and if you want to do that, thats even OK, but dont use your Admin status to bully me. -

Dude, you are the one being aggressive. And now threatening me. Calling an IDEA (and not a PERSON) stupid is not wrong. Please stop trying to start a fight. And also, do not treat me like a child. Thats really inappropriate. You are a participant in this from your own point of view, or "team" - so invoking your mod powers when you are involved in something personal is really not appropriate. The IDEA that we will move on from Caleb next year IS STUPID. It just IS. That prompted you to write a long thing about respecting other peopls opinions - what is debate if you cant disagree? And that prompted Stinger to write a long thing about me. So honestly who is stirring this all up? It's the two of you. I am allowed to think something is dumb. It's not even a PG word, its 100% G rated. Come on. Another respected member here called that opinion being "willfully ignorant" - which I think is correct, and probably more personal, and yet you didnt go after them and try to act like a parent to a child with them. So I think you should think about what I've said, and act appropriately. I am not here to fight. And I didnt start a fight here either. If you dont want to see fighting here, then dont attack people in a condescending manner. -
Here we go again. Now you want to make me the bad guy. I am an Admin. I am asked to ensure that Forum Guidelines are followed to create a friendly environment where Bear fans can exchange opinions without being insulted for doing so. I urge you to read the post pinned at the top of the page by Adam and adhere to the rules he stated. Simply stated, Adam suggested in his summary of the rules: I'd prefer not to delete your posts that violate the guidelines. I'd prefer not to issue a ban for violating the guidelines.
