We always could cut him later and only take a $3.5 cap hit. If he looks legit, extend his contract and cut the cap hit in half.

That implies that he might be willing to come out of retirement to join Brady somewhere without Belichick. They'd want a team with a good defense. They'd want a team that needs a QB and a TE. Brady's suspension reinstated. The players collectively bargained Goodell to have these powers and I am glad that this decision was made. In my opinion whether or not I believed in the ball deflation argument Brady and the Patriots should have cooperated with the league. If my boss feels I have done something wrong and as requested something to aid the investigation then I know what would happen to me if I didn't provide. Just glad it's over. I do wonder if the league will appeal. This is, however, a real indictment of the arbitrary nature of Goodell's rulings. I believe Brady was guilty as sin but if the NFL can't convince a judge to take their side, when the Commissioner is supposed to have discretion in these matters, it speaks volumes about how shitty a job he's doing.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter about Albert moving up into the top 10 on draft boards. If this happens it should mean we're able to draft one of the top 3 LT. If Albert is still there for us at 14 it sounds more and more like that's a solid pick for us too.

Unfortunate news for him, but this is what you get sometimes when drafting college players that have been through a serious injury. I was not too fond of this pick either.
