On pace for 85-1258 and 21 TDs. That would be the 6th most receiving yards in franchise history, and the franchise record for TD receptions is 13 (last achieved by Dick Gordon in 1974 lol), so he would blow that out of the water by 8. I am sure his TDs will slow down, but he has 13 games left to get 9 TDs (to hit 14 for the record).

I haven’t liked an uncertain player a ton in quite some time. I remember being in love with Randy Moss and being told he was way too big of a risk. Well, I loved Skattebo also, and many were uncertain about him. Too slow. Bad competition. Won’t translate to the NFL. Even though he appears to be fast-tracking towards CTE, he could have been the guy the Bears picked to fill an obvious need. i wonder if the Bears front office even considered drafting him? Has anyone seen reports suggesting one way or another?

  3. Crazy to think the opening line has the Bears favored, but they do. My assumption is that will slide to DAL being the favorite as the week goes on and DAL gets hammered with money. At this point, it is probably another loss until something happens with the defense. If they can't get pressure, they can't have Stevenson out there trailing WRs by 5 yards on every play. I don't even know what type of coverage he is playing, but he has been one of the worst players on the defense, and teams just start targeting him on every play. Hopefully the offense decides to get the TEs involved because they combined for only 3 targets against DET. 2 for Kmet and 1 for Loveland. …

I wasn't expecting this. I'm definitely expecting this with Thuney. Now it gets interesting to see how much cap space we can free up for this year. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/chicago-bears-act-quickly-to-reward-key-offensive-lineman-with-a-contract-extension

We choked in the first game and got our ass kicked in the 2nd. Prior to the season beginning we had the discussion of how long it would take for the Ben Johnson team to take shape. Nobody on this board said it would be instant. We agreed it would be between week six and eight weeks before the offense would click. We never really discussed how long it would take the defense. Defense usually happens faster as but we have had a lot of injuries to hinder the process. Who predicted we would win the division? None of us. Caleb got better this week. That's all that counts.

  6. Reports are that starters will play, which is nice to see. Bagent and Co started with back to back 3 and outs against Miami, so I hope Caleb can lead a scoring drive and show real progress on Sunday night.

  7. Lions favored by 6, the 4th biggest spread of the week. For how bad the Bears looked, the Lions looked worse in Week 1. For EPA/P for the offense and defense, after Week 1: Bears 23rd and 6th Lions 22nd and 26th The Lions defense was bad and lucky they didn't give up 40. The Bears were unlucky and gave up 27. I don't think the Bears defense allows that much again. I also think the offense musters at least another TD (to replace the defensive one from Week 1) but I don't trust Santos at all. So I am going with 24-20 Bears. One of these teams is going home 0-2 on Sunday, both overall, and in the Division. Hopefully the team rises up for Ben as he got…

  8. Minnesota will be without Jordan Addison for this one. On the injury front, we know the Bears will be without Booker. The team is still hopeful to have Jaylon Johnson back to match up with Justin Jefferson. Both of those two are dinged up right now. I could see a heavy dose of Aaron Jones and TJ Hockenson in Week 1. LBs will play a huge role in stopping them. The pros for the Bears is playing on MNF at home, Soldier Field should be electric. Getting off to a hot start is key. McCarthy is basically a rookie. Caleb played well against MIN last year all things considered, he had 531 passing yards (265 yds/g), 3 TD, 0 INT, and 5 sacks in two games against…

This is not a result of Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, or anyone else but Ryan Poles. You can't continually lose on trades and under draft year after year. 2025 Draft picks in the first 4 rounds have literally contributed zero to this team in 2 weeks, and the Bears had 5 picks in the first 4 rounds. In 2024, he drafted Williams #1 and Odunze #9, which were a wash. Most had Williams going #1 and Odunze at 8. He did pass on Brock Bowers and Thomas Jr to go with Odunze. Also passed on every other QB for Williams. Right now, even after a great game for Odunze, it looks like those both were the wrong picks compared to players picked after them. We still have to gi…

Ty Dunn wrote a 3 part article about 2024 Bears and it throws Caleb under the bus. I read where one coach that is quoted said this was not suppose to be public. The writer lied to get quotes. It makes Celeb look very bad. Throws Poles under the bus also. I have only seen some quotes and the article comes out Monday. My opinion is some things are true and some things are opinion. He made this a sensational article to get clicks. We have Ben Johnson now and everything is going well, I could care less what is true and not true. BJ came here because of Caleb and its all a new year , the sh+t show left last year with the coaches.

Ok, so here's my swing at a 53 man roster right now. The ??????? slots will be filled either by guys currently on the roster (in parenthesis) or by grabbing someone else's cast off. All this assuming no trades that take guys from our roster too. So lets talk - did I put anyone on that isnt gonna make the 53? Are any of the guys in parenthesis locks? Closest I see to that is Amagadje, but I left that one open in case anyone wants to promote someone else. 2025 Bears 53 Man Roster QB (2) Caleb WIlliams Tyson Bagent RB (4) D'Andre Swift Kyle Monongai Roschon Johnson ??????? (Brittain Brown, Royce Freeman, Travis Homer, Ian Wheeler) WR…

  14. Started by adam,

It looks like the Bears created enough cap space for operating during the season after restructuring Jaylon Johnson's contract (saved $8M on this year's cap). However, I don't think there is room to add any big ticket guys like Zadarius Smith. At most it will be a vet minimum guy that doesn't impact the cap.

  15. Started by adam,

Higher than I expected to be honest. Considering Goff is lower, and only Daniels is higher as a 2nd year QB. So Maye, McCarthy, Penix are all lower.

  16. Started by adam,

Ok, I have been tempering my excitement and it is only the preseason but I always felt that there are things you can take away from the preseason even if it is not game outcome related. The operation as a whole looks crisper, tighter, and it feels like everyone understands what is going on. Communication looked good, no delay of game penalties or wasted time outs. The buy in is real. Burdens blocks at the goal line were impressive. If the players have confidence and trust the process, there is another level that can be achieved, something we haven't seen since the Lovie era. Now this might not equate to wins right away but I feel like once they get on a ro…

I think the biggest question for me before the season starts is: Is Jaylon Johnson going to play and can he be up to speed day 1? I know there are questions at other positions but until we see our players preform, Im going to wait and make those judgements later. Because we are playing Jefferson our first game, I think this matters.

  19. Johnson said starters will play some, so I assume at least one drive for offensive starters. I like how Johnson ramped this up.
