I watched the game against the Seahawks again, and I noticed that there was a LOT of max protect. On a few plays the Bears had 6 or 7 guys in blocking a 4-man rush. Made me think of two things: 1) Did anyone else notice this? 2) Is this something that should be used repeatedly against the Packers?

Having my Dad and Brother over. Our mutual insistance on NOT changing a thingis our superstition. Choice of beverage, Crown and Coke! Food optional! I'm stoked. Go Bears!

A hard game to lose today. Rogers came out on fire and looked unstoppable, while Cutler looked mediocre. We were thoroughly outplayed for most of the first half. Then, Cutler went out of the game??? WHAT? He is standing on the sidelines, talking, no obvious pain, and he is out? Hmmm.....I have been a big supporter of Cutler, but do we have a pu$$y here? I told my wife, "No one takes himself out of an NFC Championship game at QB unless he can't walk." But there was Cutler, sitting/standing on the sideline, usual sour look on his face, watching the game. And getting paid. Defence really stood up today in the second half. We had a chance to steal this game…

So the season is over for us now, onto the offseason already. Aside from the obvious (Drafting offensive lineman) what else do you think the Bears need to improve the offense and defense for next season? Two things for me. One, a true #1 receiver-- easier said then done, but without one you can never be a truly consistent offense throwing the football. As far as I'm concerned, Earl Bennett is really the only one I somewhat trust at catching the ball. Secondly, there's a free agent out there that will be demanding a ton of money and goes by the name of Andy Asumugha (sp!!). You know, the guy from Oakland. I don't know where the Bears are at financially like I do with…

Do any of you think the window is closed? I do. Despite having a young offense, most of those young guys suck. Omiyale, Knox, Webb, and Hester all suck. The defense is great, but by the time 2012 comes around (which is when the next season will be most likely) Urlacher, Peppers, Briggs, Idonije, Tillman, and C.Harris will all be TWO years old on top of their already advanced ages. F*** MY LIFE

Let me preface this by saying: 1. I live in Central Illinois where everyone is a Bear fan. I don't have to deal with a jack-ass Packer neighbor, co-workers, etc.. 2. If the Packers win it gives the Bears some credibility that they lost to the champs . . . and it's real tough for a champ to repeat which makes next slightly easier Since it appears it will be Pittsburgh, I find it impossible to root for a team that has won it twice in the last decade and are QB'ed by an alleged rapist. Aside from being the Bears #1 rivals, I have no grudge against them this time of year.

    1. Hats off to Caleb Hanie for playing outstanding given the situation he was put in. Fxxk Martz for keeping Collins around after the Carolina game and taking reps away from Hanie. He is your #2 going forward. Draft a developmental qb. 2. Any fan questioning Cutler's heart or desire to play after the beating he took this year is out of their minds IMHO. He got his arse beat every week and came back for more. Reports of fans burning their Cutler jerseys in the parkng lot after the game? Lunatics. 3. Matt Forte is a stud. He carried the team the 2nd half of the season. 4. If Url were to retire tomorrow, he belows in the HOF IMHO. 5. If I was T…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...ers-ripped-him/ Jay Cutler had tears in his eyes when told other players ripped him Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2011, 8:45 AM EST Several NFL players took to Twitter on Sunday to rip Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, questioning his toughness for leaving the NFC Championship Game with a knee injury. A story written after the game by Jim Trotter of Sports Illustrated will do nothing to change that perception of Cutler. Although Trotter’s portrayal of Cutler is sympathetic — the headline is “Don’t question Cutler’s toughness” — Trotter offers a detail that is sure to add fuel to the fire for those …

Or should the Bears hold a press conference where numerous coaches, players, and analysts point out horrible he is BEFORE cutting him.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...r-has-mcl-tear/ Maybe all of you people calling him soft can apologize? Cutler can get bashed for a lot of things, but "soft" isn't one of them. Oh and the national sports media doesn't like to talk about how right after Cutler's "No comment" in regards to NFL players questioning his toughness, he turned around and started to cry.

  16. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...back-situation/ Bears bungled backup quarterback situation Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2011, 11:09 AM EST Lost in all the talk about the knee injury that sidelined Jay Cutler in the Bears’ NFC Championship Game loss has been the fact that the Bears completely botched their backup quarterback situation on Sunday by foolishly installing Todd Collins, and not Caleb Hanie, as their No. 2 quarterback. When Cutler went out, Collins went in, and he was horrible: He threw four ugly incompletions before Bears coach Lovie Smith yanked him for Hanie. But why was Collins ahead of Hanie on the depth chart…

To all you Cutler bashers, Get a grip. The man tore his MCL and couldn't play. He got us to the NFC Championship after getting his ass kicked week in and week out. Cutler did not let us down. The only reason you are questioning his toughness is because whoever tell the FOX booth the status of injured players said his return was questionable. If they would have said he was out, there would be not a single discussion on the issue. FOX screwed the pooch by not fulfilling their media responsibility by replaying the injury. The man was hurt. If he could play, I have no doubt he would have been in there. You act like he didn't WANT to play. That is bullshit and you should …

  19. I dont know if it is too soon to look at how far this team came but that is what im going to do! They were picked to finish 3rd in the NFC North. Made it to the NFC Championship game and really made it it a game with our 3rd string QB(really should be 2nd string). I went to every home game this year other then the first Seatle game and have a ton of great memories from this season. If i had to pick my favorite memory from this season it would prolly be Hester breaking the record! I love watching him return punts and kickoffs!!!! So if any of you are up to it lets make a list of the best of favorite memories form this past season!

I just thought I'd throw this out there as a final thought (a la Jerry Springer....) Jay is my quarterback. He's a damn good QB. Not great. Not yet. Maybe he will be, maybe he won't. But I will say he's the best we've had in years. I also see improvement year to year. If he keeps improving, we might be extremely dangerous for many years. I may not like Jay's propensity to throw off the back foot. I may not like some of the decisions he makes. I may not like some of the errant throws he makes. But, I love that he is a tough son of a bitch. He may not be pissing blood like Jimmy Mac or cutting his ringfinger off to play like Lott. But, he's taken about…
