  1. Started by Pixote,

I would love to see the Bears enter a draft with extra picks stockpiled. It seems every year we enter the draft with less picks than rounds. So the thought of giving up a future draft pick to obtain a promising prospect is questionable in my mind. Especially when the prospect has a few question marks, however small they are. It appears that Isaiah Battle is a highly regarded OT prospect, one who could possibly anchor an OL on the left side for a long time. So would you roll the dice on him? 2. First of all don't get me wrong. I am thrilled we are still in the playoff picture, and savor a close win against the number 1 offense in the league, but... We need to fire both turner and babich after this season. I mean c'mon 4 minutes in regulation, you're up by 4 and 3 straight passes??? Even a 8 year old playing madden with this team would run the damn ball under those circumstances. Then there's ole babich. I think the announcers collinsworth and the other dude said it best before the game, and I quote... Same faces from the dominant defense we had a few years ago went on to say urlacher, brown, ogun, brown, briggs, and tillman, but we are not dominating the …

SI.com Thoughts? As of now, it looks a bit easy. The Lions, Packers, Browns, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks, and Bengals all have top 12 draft picks. Obviously, it could change totally (see: 2008 Falcons, 2008 Dolphins) but as of now, it looks like the NFL schedule's are in our favor.

For the keeper league, I got the email that we have moved the draft up to tomorrow "early afternoon". Can we set a time? I don't know if we are talking about noon or 3pm, or if we are going to do it earlier or later, or what. Family is wanting to do some stuff, and while they understand I have the draft, I would like to know when it is so I can plan around it.

Tillman, Alex Brown, Hester, Vasher, etc, AKA a non-first round steal for us. I'm going to say Harrison. He's an absolute monster when he's not an off the field nuisance. He is a big man and with Tommie drawing double teams, he could have a 3-5 sack year. Not to mention, when we took him, he was the best defensive player on the board. If not for his off the field problems, he would have been a mid-2nd round pick.

per Schefter: Former Falcons, Rams and Dolphins OT Jake Long is working out today for the Chicago Bears, per source. Somewhat surprising considering we cut Slauson. I guess we are content with interior line but are still looking for outside help.

Jim Harbaugh was a pretty good coach for the 49ers. He took a 6-10 team that hadnt finished above 8-8 in eight years and did this: 2011 (13-3) Lost NFC Championship game in overtime to the Giants 20-17 2012 (11-4-1) Lost Super Bowl to Ravens 34-31 2013 (12-4) Lost NFC Championship game to Seattle 23-17 2014 (8-8) Did not go to the playoffs. Fired after the 2014 season. QB Colin Kaepernick goes on to a record of 3-16 after Harbaugh leaves. Harbaugh's 49ers record including playoffs is 49-22-1 (68%) At Michigan, Harbaugh is 61-24 (71.8%) 2015 (10-3) Won Citrus Bowl 41-7 over Florida Gators 2016 (10-3) Lost Orange Bowl 33-…

Since last year ive wanted a freak in the secondary, Taylor Mays has not been picked and is a friggin beast. Dont get me wrong, id rather get Nate Allen in thre 3rd, but he wont be there, guaranteed, probably Burnett either. Unheard of size and speed, dont care why other teams pass, what do they know?

  14. Here we go, the first dress rehearsal for the new regime. I will be watching to see how the young bucks looks, and how the communication is with the new staff. Hoping for a cleaner game with minimal pre-snap penalties, and no major injuries. We will see if the physicality carries over from the joint practices, or if Miami comes out with some payback in mind. Bears by 20.

http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...earnt11.article Selction: Injury report Wide receiver Devin Hester (calf) didn't practice again Thursday and would need a quick recovery today to play against the Packers. ''It's never a good sign when a guy misses two days of practice,'' coach Lovie Smith said. Hester had four catches for 90 yards against the Packers in the opener, including a 36-yard touchdown. But he had only one catch in each of the last two games -- for 20 and 48 yards. Left tackle Orlando Pace (groin) practiced on a limited basis but is expected to start. Linebackers Lance Briggs (knee) and Hunter Hillenmeyer (groin) and defen…

I realize that it won't mean much if we can't run the ball or pass protect, but still I'm surprised there hasn't been much discussion here about Martz's passing scheme. I watched the preseason game, and I replayed every passing down the Bears had. The scheme is GREAT. EVERY down had multiple receivers open, sometimes WIDE open. You know how when we play certain teams, you feel so frustrated at our coverage, like "how are THEY always open, and we NEVER are??" I think we're about to be one of those other teams. I'm used to seeing receivers used to clear space and then hitting the guy underneath. I saw similar shapes, but it seemed that in a lot of the pl…

  18. I really like what the Bears did in the draft. We got some players that we needed and we won't have to break the bank for them. We got competion for so postions and starters for others. I really think that on opening day we will start on offense LT will be Williams LG will be ST.Clair C will be Kreutz RG will be either Garza or Adams RT will be Tait. TE will be Clark/Olsen/Davis WR will be Booker/Bradley/Bennet/Davis/Monk/Hester(Hass and Lloyd will get cut) QB will be Grossman with Orton/Hill as back ups FB McKie RB will be Benson if healthy starting he knows the system already, but Forte will be in the wings. They will be splitting carries like…

We've only had a minicamp but this is a good sign that Hester has learned where to lineup and what route to run on plays. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/ChalkTalkStory.asp?story_id=4768 I totally agree with you that Devin Hester will surprise everyone at wide receiver this year. What’s your guess on how many catches and yards he’ll have? Do you think 70 catches and 850 yards is out of the question? Eric H. Monroe, Michigan I’m going to predict that Devin Hester catches 53 passes for 848 yards. I think 70 is a little high just because the Bears will try to establish a running game and also spread the ball around in the passing game t…
