I love how he plays the game, especially his blocking, but against this level of competition it's easy to do. He's going to need a lot more lower body strength to play like that in the NFL. It is always hard to judge speed against lower levels of competition but he's not going to run away from any DBs in the NFL. He has enough mobility to find gaps in a defense and he's got good hands and tracks the ball well so it's worth giving him a shot to see how develops.

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/chalk-tal...cc-2f344c226106 The Bears assigned numbers to their rookies on Thursday and first-round pick Leonard Floyd was given No. 94. Here are the numbers the other draft picks were given: Guard Cody Whitehair (65), defensive end Jonathan Bullard (69), linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (44), safety Deon Bush (26), cornerback Deiondre' Hall (32d), running back Jordan Howard (24o), safety DeAndre Houston-Carson (36) and receiver Daniel Braverman (83). From what I understand, Floyd’s No. 94 is pretty much set in stone. But the other rookies could change their numbers after the 53-man roster is set the week leading into the regular-season ope…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...-on-his-nerves/ Bears’ Lamarr Houston says Aaron Rodgers’ championship belt gets on his nerves Posted by Michael David Smith on May 3, 2016, 5:03 PM EDT rodgersbelt Getty Images Bears linebacker Lamarr Houston is spicing up the offseason with a little trash talk aimed at Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Asked about Rodgers on ESPN today, Houston acknowledged he’s a good player but said he doesn’t like him as a person and especially doesn’t like his attitude, exemplified by his trademark celebration of pretending to put a championship belt around his waist. “He’s a little arrogant for me. He’s a little …

With Balt drafting Stanley, I can see Eugene Monroe being traded or cut. He would definitly be an upgrade as the LT and is only 29, would have 3 to 4 years left at a high level. With Hargraeves going to TB and then grabbing Grimes in FA I can see them cutting loose of Alterraun Verner/CB. He played well before he got to TB and he is 27.

This is a really interesting article. Two things stuck out to me in reading it: - Long saying that he and Massie working together at LeCharles Bentley's Academy "should be illegal." - Long saying that if you have the same five guys five years in a row, the O-line would be like the San Antonio Spurs. Is that what the Bears are trying to start with a Leno-Whitehair-Grasu-Long-Massie lineup this year that is young enough to grow together and be together for a long time?

You obviously can't predict other trades, or anything like that. All you can do is pick where the Bears picked. Here's how I would have done it: 1) Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss - Huge steal here. He was supposed to be top 3, and before all the trade craziness he was probably #1. I think 75% of Bears fans thought he was the pick when the Bears traded up to #9. 2) Vonn Bell, FS, Ohio St - A safety with great coverage ability. Fits what the FO wants to do. 3) Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida - Value is too good here. Great pick. 4) Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor - He's a monster. Should have gone earlier. Provides depth & competition for Goldman. 4) Dak…

Big draft class is going to mean lots of competition and some decent players losing their jobs. QB should be set with Cutler/Hoyer/Fales, but it's chaos almost everywhere else: RB: I'd be shocked if we don't keep Langford/Howard/Carey/Rodgers. Sorry Senorise. TE: Beyond Zach Miller you have veterans who haven't shown much (Housler, Sinclair, Lee) who should be pushed by Braunecker. WR: Jeffery, White, and Royal are the only locks, IMO. Thompson probably has an edge with special teams value but Braverman could challenge that. Will be a big camp for Wilson, Bellamy, and Meredith and I could see them all losing their jobs if a decent WR is cut loose from a…

It is impossible to know how he'll perform once the pads go on but looking at the practice photos of Cornelius Washington he has bulked up quite a bit for his new role at DE. He made some noise last year in pass rushing drills early in camp before his injury. http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/pho...72-3dcb23fcef47

Maybe a decent signing? Injury troubles and aging...but a vet presence.

I'm looking at what our division rivals have done in the draft and let's open the floor for comments. I'll start with the team I hate the most. Packers: 1st: Kenny Clark DT. I felt they had better options available the way the DTs fell in the draft. This was a head-scratcher for me but that's ok. He won't be a bad player for them I just felt there were others with more upside available. 2nd: Jason Spriggs OT. Good pick for them 3rd: Kyler Fackrell OLB. It will be tough for me to watch the hometown kid wearing a Packer's jersey twice a season. He's not elite at anything but is a good jack-of-all-trades type. I really thought they'd push …

Just watched a video where they said Whitehair was definitely playing inside at OG. Maybe C. I'm not sure about this pick now. Is he a Slausson replacement? Is he a Grassu replacement? Doesn't matter the scenario, there is one problem remaining... No LT to push Leno. Leno may end up being the worst starting position player on the team this year, and that's not something you want in your LT.
