Week 1 - 28.3 Week 2 - 21.6 After 2 weeks, at 24.2, he is 2nd to last in the NFL, only ahead of Bryce Young. Bo Nix is at 35.7 and Daniels is at 46.8 Williams needs to step it up as QBR is a huge predictor of future success. Comparatively, Fields ended his rookie year at 31.4, Zach Wilson at 33.4, and Lawrence at 39.1. Williams PFF Grade is a 44.3, the lowest of any Bears offensive players and 2nd lowest of any player. Only Booker is lower at 42.9.

  4. Some people think that Kingsbury has did a better job with a rookie QB than Johnson with Goff. Pluses: former HC Has developed QBs Has a relationship with Caleb Did have some success but failed after Murray got hurt. He may be looked at as a viable candidate for a HC job.

I know Vrabel is still in the discussion, but it seems like these 3 guys would be the leading candidates as Offensive Options at HC: 1. Ben Johnson - DET is 3rd in EPA/Play, 1st in TDs, 2nd in YPG, best OLine in NFL, Goff 4th in TD Passes, 2nd in Passing Yards 2. Joe Brady - BUF is 2nd in EPA/Play, 2nd in TDs, 8th in YPG, Allen is an alien 3. Liam Coen - TB is 6th in EPA/Play, 5th in TDs, 3rd in YPG, Mayfield 3rd in TD Passes, 4th in Passing Yards It is really hard to strip away some of the artificial things that would not carry over to the Bears, if one of these guys came over. Obviously the first thing that stands out is the DET's OLine, Ben Johnson would …

After watching two weeks of the playoffs, for how bad the Bears played this season, they played way too many of these teams close enough that with small changes, the outcomes could've been much different. Just like 2023, the Bears were a better team than their record. We now know a lot of this was on Flus and the coaching staff. The Bears had 5 games decided by a FG or less, two others by 6 or less, and then the NE game where they didn't even show up. That is 8 games. If they just won half of those, that is a 9-win team. Win 75%, and it's an 11-win team. With the right coaching staff, a few key FAs, a solid draft, and this team will look magically transfor…

So far it feels a little watered down compared to recent years. 3 games decided by 2 TDs or more. WAS seems to be blessed with the best luck. Down by 4, TB fumbles on their own 13 yard line, 4 plays later, WAS scores a TD and never trails again. They won by 3, so that play was the deciding factor and at least a 7 pt swing if not more. The best part of this weekend was seeing the GB frauds get sent packing where Love throws for 3 INTs and 0 TDs. Their only TD drive was when Jacobs accounted for 55 of the 78 yards. Herbert was just as bad if not worse than Love against HOU. He threw 4 picks and was sacked 4 times. So Herbert + Love threw more INTs …

Caleb was on the St Brown Brothers podcast. He said he wants a leader of men, offensive guru and someone that matches his aggressive nature. Near the end he all but said he wanted Ben.

Self deprecating humor aside, I am changing my coaching preference. I'm down to three coaches only. The only criteria for these choices are experience, success and culture. That eliminates Johnson. Vrabel-he's the front runner to get the Patriots gig. Add that Georgie it's probably afraid of him. Carroll - one of his personnel said Pete is a guy that makes everyone believe they are a huge piece of the puzzle. Gets maximum buy-in and effort out of everyone. McCarthy - I consider him because he knows how to build a culture and run a camp. Here's my choice, if all I hear is true. Pete Carroll evidently proposed to the Bears that he has a three …

Based on the lack of a 4th rounder (used for Booker), the Bears have to nail their first 4 picks with 75+ picks between picks after pick #72. #10 #39 (CAR) #41 #72 -Following Picks will change, but currently: #147 #197 (PIT) #218 or #246 (CLE) #233 (CIN) Depending on the board, they may want to move back with one of their 2nds or the 3rd to pickup another pick. Examples: Moving from#41 to #48 would net a mid-4th Moving from #41 to #55 would net a late 3rd. Moving from #73 to #85 would net a mid-4th.

Please watch the press conferences from McCaskey, Warren and Poles. OMG George is such a buffoon. He literally started his presser by thanking Matt Eberflus. Listen to Poles when asked about pressure placed on Caleb. Add the fact that we are interviewing thirteen HC candidates, shows that George is still involved, regardless of what he says. Vrabel and Johnson have to be scratching their heads. There are guys on the list I've never heard of. I'm certainly scratching mine. Shit show is our floor, while mediocre is the ceiling, as long as it smells like George...

  16. We are finally put out of our misery for this season at around 3pm on Sunday. The Bears played GB tough the last time, but have not been the same team in weeks. Just like the 2nd game against DET and MIN, I don't see this one going too well. Game time temps are supposed to be in the low-20s to high teens with wind chills as low as 10 degrees. I can't see Santos making a kick longer than 40 yards. I expect them to dink and dunk, try to run the ball (won't be successful because of the OLine and Swift) and just survive the game without any major injuries. GB is playing for WC positioning, and it is a pretty big deal. It will be the difference between a …

After 3 weeks, there are 14 teams with a 1-2 record. CLE is technically the last WC team in the AFC. So the Bears could be as low as #4 or as high as #17 thru 3 weeks. Honestly, I am surprised CIN and JAX are 0-3, but CIN did look terrible in joint practices, so it does make sense a little bit. I have no clue how JAX got worse, but they did have a super easy schedule last season that may have masked their issues. Crazy to think the entire QB draft class with Fields may end up not living up to the hype, with Lawrence as the last victim. 1. JAX 0-3 2. TEN 0-3 3. CIN 0-3 ------------ 4. IND 1-2 5. NE 1-2 6. CLE 1-2 7. MIA 1-2 8. CAR 1-2 9. DAL 1-2 …

  18. GMs, I have renewed our annual TalkBears Fantasy Football Keeper league, which is now entering its 15th season (which is crazy). At the end of last season, there were 9 GMs that said they would be returning. An email invite went out on June 17th from Yahoo, but I definitely want to get confirmation on the 9 GMs returning from last year and ask if there is any interest from the board or you know of someone else for filling in the 10th spot. If so, please let me know here and I will send out an invite (will need email address). Once we get 10 confirmations, we can schedule the draft and I can send out the LeagueSafe payment dues ($75 per team). The winning pa…

Here is our top free agents, who should we bring back? WR Kennan Allen DE Darrell Taylor OL Coleman Shelton OL Teven Jenkins RB Travis Homer TE Mercedes Lewis OL Matt Pryor DE Jacob Martin I think Shelton played well enough to bring back as a backup, Jenkins on a team friendly deal and Jacob Martin is a cheap backup that has shown some since coming off injury. He was making the vet roster salary. My biggest wish is bringing in Trey Smith. Poles was there when they drafted him. With the growth of Wright and stick Smith next to him we have a power spot on the OL.

  20. The Bears last national embarrassment game of the season. Short week, the only advantage is Seattle is playing right now in Seattle against Minnesota. So they are going to have a short week and have to travel. With Seattle expected to lose to Minnesota and already down by 10, they have to win out to even have a chance to make the playoffs. So for them, it is a must win. The Bears have only pride to play for, and based on recent weeks, I don't know if that is enough. I am going with Seattle 27 - Bears 23. I revised my prediction score. I think both teams score 3 TDs, but SEA also gets 2x FGs.
