  1. Started by jason,

Just for fun I thought of it from TD's point of view (seriously, without jest): The Bears absolutely have to get rid of Cutler. Conservatively, I think the Bears can get a 4th for him. Maybe a 3rd. Let's say TN wants him. 1 - Shane Ray, DE, Missouri --or-- Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska - Whoever they like best and fits the scheme to be run. 2 - Derron Smith, FS, Fresno St. - Best FS in the draft. Great instincts. Good angles. Awesome hands. Predicts passes and jumps routes. 3 - Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor - He's pretty much the antithesis of Cutler at QB. 4 - Deshazor Everett, CB, TX A&M - He already has a history of crushing Green Bay players. 4 - Jake Fish…

  2. Take it for what it is worth. Clearly the Bears and Ballard are interested. I think the Bears are lined up to meet with Ballard on Wednesday and are meeting with some other GM candidates today / tomorrow. My guess is by Friday Bears will introduce their new GM, if not sooner.

  3. Started by Chitownhustla,

Not that I want this guy as our GM due to concerns with his drinking but I think he could be a good addition to the Bears staff in some role. https://twitter.com/AroundTheNFL/status/552161414941376513 The Bears need to assemble the strongest front office staff possible. Right now I do not have a lot of faith in the guys they have now. I hope the Bears try to bring in the best talent possible to form as strong as a staff as possible. Lets hope the new GM brings in some new talent to front office staff. someone else posted about the this guy recently, cant remember who.....

  4. any thoughts on this guy? i guess he just became available. sounds interesting to me... http://www.csnchicago.com/bears/tom-gamble...t-search-new-gm

WK1 vs Buffalo: 1 of 2 mixup as Cutler throws short and Bennett goes long WK4 vs Packers: 1 of 2 mixup as Marshall runs the stop and go, while Cutler throws the comeback. WK6 vs Dolphins: 1 of 1 (starts at 0:22) as the WR runs deep and Cutler throws the comeback. WK7 vs Patriots: 1 of 1, as it was a nonsense, end of half hail mary. WK10 vs Packers: 1 of 2, a completely ridiculously unfortunate situation where the ball hits Long in the helmet, bounces right over Forte's hands, and to a streaking defender. WK11 vs Vikings: 2 of 2. Cutler threw a stop or curl route to Bennett, and Bennett, who didn't read the blitz, continued on the post. And the other INT was w…

When Emery came on board, and then when Lovie was fired, we saw some of our best talents leave the organization. Ballard was promoted then decided to leave a year later because he reportedly wanted to work with someone else. Marinelli was offered the DC job and after a week or so he chose to leave town for a lesser job with the Cowboys. Toub had our special teams at the top of the league year after year and when Lovie was gone he was offered a job to stick around. After a week or so he left town to take the same job in another city. Clearly something with Emery and Trestman made some good coaches and talent evaluators leave town. Now we have rumors of Balla…

  7. with no GM in place: a good or bad choice, i don't know. here ya go... "Report: Bears Have No Interest In Rex Ryan Former Jets coach Rex Ryan is not among one of the coaches the Bears are interested in interviewing, per a report from ProFootballTalk.com." http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/01/03/rep...st-in-rex-ryan/ we would consider quinn a DC who has never been a HC and no offensive anything experience over ryan a defensive minded coach who has been a HC in the NFL. where is the logic in this? go figure.

Rumors circulating around that Chip Kelly wants to opt out of his contract after the dismissal of his buddy Tom Gamble. Gamble + Kelly? Too good to be true. I would absolutely love it, but I could see Chip going back to college if there is not a perfect situation out there.

  12. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

Not that he's probably in consideration but seeing Jim Mora (the younger one - currently UCLA HC) mentioned as a HC possibility for other teams. In keeping with the thought of second (or in his case third) chances, similar to Belichick or Carroll he could make a case for a decent comeback. Would he be someone the Bears should consider? He has clout, experience and a little edge. Although my #1 choice continues to be Shannahan. Then maybe Kubiak.

I've read differing accounts about what Ted Phillips role will be. What is the latest and has anything concrete come out of Halas Hall?

Im only going to discuss positions of need, not all the guys that are or will be draft eleigible in 2015. Cam Erving: started the year LT, but switched to Center to help the team as that position was an issue. Running game, line protection and offensive efficiency improved. Show how versatile he is and can multiple positions. Keep an eye in him. He came to FSU as Dt and coaches told him his future is at OL, he trusted the coaches, so he's definitely a team player. Redshirt senior, so he's definitely mature and physically ready. Would be a great replacement for Roberto at Center PJ Williams: Guy can cover and play the run as a cb. Is aggressive and does not back…

Apparently Marrone asked for an extension and was told no, so he opted out (and gets to keep $4 mil), wow: https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/550429987732750336 http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2308254...ts-and-reaction This just adds another team to the HC hunt, unless he decides to go to one of the other teams, then it would be a wash.
