Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Started by madlithuanian,

There's a ton of skepticism going on, and I'm also a bit worried. However, there are some positives besides the spin the bears are putting on it... 1. Reporting to Teddy might be a blessing. Any GM worthwhile will see Teddy as a piss ant and do what he wants to do. It'll be like virtually having no boss. So, for a strong and smart GM, it could prove a blessing. 2. Stuck with Smith. Well, assuming it's truly locked...then after one season, he could be ousted potentially. Also, what if, Smith actually excels? What is a barrage of new talent makes all the difference? Smith isn't the worst coach. He's certainly not the best. But he might be good enough…

  2. Licht and Emery are the only two they are bringing in for 2nd interviews correct??? If so we should be hearing something very soon. Who would you rather have and who do you think will get the job?? For both questions you have to use Licht or Emery

Anyone need a quick smile and chuckle? http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?...4293&st=100 I still get goosebumps. Going back to page 160-170, I can't believe some of those putrid mock drafts we all made too. Anyway, it's time FINALLY to surround him with some talent. Do it, Emery.

Emery has evaluated his new team and he see's what needs to be done to not just win a Superbowl, but build a dynasty. First in order, he gets the FA Bears signed right away that he doesn't want to hesitate on Matt Forte Corey Graham Greg Steltz Amobi Okoye Kahil Bell He will keep a close eye on: Kellen Davis, Israel Idonje, and Brandon Merriweather but hold until after the draft Second is to make the splash in the market....with 15-22 million to spend PE thinks BIG Vincent Jackson WR -Bowe will get the franchise tag if he don't sign long term, KC has lots of cap space. Jackson won't be franchised, but will weigh his options before going…

The Official Bears site has an article showing Forte has had the franchise tag placed on him. Hopefully before long we will see an article saying he has been signed to a long term contract and the "tag" was just used to make sure he did not go anywhere while we tried to finish up negotiations. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=8669

Courtesy of NFL Network here is a break down on WR Stephen Hill Stephen Hill - pro day video A little raw but seems to snatch the ball with his hands well to go along with nice size / speed attributes. I think Cutty would not mind breaking Hill in as a rookie ala Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal.

  13. There's a guy out there that I have had my eye on as a possible dark horse candidate to be the next WR drafted by the Chicago Bears. Given the recent signing of Devin Thomas, it's looking like the Bears are going to go away from a WR, atleast in the early rounds of the draft. This may or may not be the case, this could be a clever ploy at a smoke screen, but for the purpose of this topic, lets just assume it's not. This is a player that I think might be worth drafting in the 4th round or so, and just happened to be arguably the most productive WR in college football over the past 5-10 years. I'm talking about a player who caught 131 passes and 15 touchdowns his JR year an…

http://www.drafttek.com/CMDRound1_17-32.asp 19 Chicago Jonathan Martin Stanford LOT Reach/Value: -5 Height: 6'6" Weight: 305 15 penalties...12 sacks allowed...7th rd pick - these are the vitals on LT J'Marcus Webb. Lovie and Emery have repeatedly defended Webb despite his continued folly, but the happy facade is starting to crack. Asked if the Bears would consider a change, Smith revealed the true feelings of the inner circle: "if there's someone who can improve us we're going to look at it seriously." Despite a subpar Pro Day, Martin is a player that would have to make the Bears reconsider their situation.

Ok, so I was thinking about our Left Tackle situation and thought I would take a look at the last five years of teams that made the Conference Championship games (20 teams) and see how many had a Pro Bowl Tackle. Out of the 20 teams, only 9 had a Pro Bowl Tackle, and one of those was an Alternate. So more than half of the teams did not have an Offensive Tackle (Left or Right) on their team that year. Going further, only 3 of 10 teams that played in the Super Bowl over the past 5 years had a Pro Bowl Tackle. This is sort of the reason why I would not go OT in the first round unless someone drops to us at 19. I think guys like Martin and Adams may be reaches …

Angelo couldn't draft a good offensive lineman in the first round if his life depended on it, but he owned round #7. I look for Emery to continue that tradition and draft our new starting left tackle here shortly. Any predictions?

Yahoo Sports posted their first player rankings for 2012, and the Bears are looking pretty good: http://sports.yahoo.com/fantasy/nfl/news;_...rtpoll-pre12-qb Using their Composite Ranking, the Bears ranked as follows for their positions: Cutler - 11th Forte - 9th Bush - 36th Marshall - 5th Jeffery - 50th Bennett - 68th Hester - 75th Gould - 9th Defense - 3rd Those actually seem like some realistic rankings. Marshall may be a little high, but it is nice to see him projected there. I know it is not much, but it is nice to see Bears positional players in and around the top 10 (other than Forte).
