1. Corey Wootton looked great. I would not be shocked if he has 10+ sacks this year. 2. Henry Melton looked great as well. 3. J'Marcus Webb is horrible. On the first 4 non-run plays in the 11-on-11 drills, he gave up 3 sacks. Like bowlingtwig said, this has to become a competition. Scott did fairly well last year. 4. Kyle Long is a freak. He's strong and exceptionally quick. Now the question is, can he block consistently? That wasn't the issue today, but it remains a question due to how raw he truly is still. 5. I know it's practice, but Bushrod looks damn good. I didn't even notice Peppers out there. 6. Alshon Jeffery went from 12% body fat to 8% and it shows.…

Guess who is taking all 1st team snaps at RT. What happened to having a true competition at that position like so many were on my case saying there would be. According to brad Biggs its all Webb at that position And Scott is only taking snaps with 2nd trk or when Webb needs a breather. This is not a competition. I hope this staff knows what its doing cuz if webb blows again and gets jay hurt again there's going to be a lot of pissed off ppl for not even allowing someone to at least push Webb. What's wrong with opening things up at a position where no one has earned it.

I know this isn't Bears related but I'm hoping to get some feedback. It's my second year as League Manager for an NFL.com league. It's a 12 team PPR. The question is about roster structure. Currently roster is 15 players (9 starters + 6 bench). Starters are 1QB, 2RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 Def/ST, and 1 Kicker. Should I make any adjustments to the roster size, # of starters, or # of bench players, or just leave it as is. I realize adding to the roster size would shrink the talent level of the FA pool.

Trestman said today that there wasn't any mental errors today. As opposed to yesterday there were quite a few. This could be huge if true. Mental errors destroyed us last yr.

We're one week out from the start of training camp and it's time to get a feel for the players everyone is expecting to have a breakout season. I'm expecting Alshon Jeffrey to step up this year. He worked hard this offseason and is in far better shape than he was last year. I also think he learned some valuable lessons in those late games with all his pass interference penalties and will be more subtle in how he uses his size advantage this season.

So much for Sedrick Ellis improving the DT depth. Today, he retired.

Swope had to retire due to past concussions. Almost everyone here, including myself, wanted him in the 4th, 5th, and 6th round. Glad we dodged that bullet. I got a notice to sign up for the TalkBears2 FF League I participated in last year but noticed it was set up for Auto-Draft. If it is going to be an Auto-Draft, I am not interested. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed changed to Auto-Draft this year? Last year I did not realize until a few minutes before the draft started that players did not get a point per reception, which I prefer, but went ahead and played. My fault, should have been more attentive to the rules. I just want to make sure I do not sign up for an Auto-Draft league as I think they really suck.

I'm amazed how many 1st Rd picks still have not signed their contract. I am very glad Emery kept Cliff Stein in the organization and continued to provide the resources to get all of our draft picks signed early. Detroit just got their 1st Rd pick signed yesterday and Packers and Vikings still don't have their picks signed. That's two of them for Minn.

I was looking over our roster thinking about our starting lineup for this season and was surprised to see we really have just two battles for starting roles in training camp. I see our starters as: (names in caps have to battle) S: Conte, Wright (settled) I think there is a lot of competition for the spots behind these guys but can't see anyone pushing for a starting job, however the depth may be decent in terms of talent (Zib, Steltz, Hardin). Tebow will never be a great QB in the league, but he does have traits that other players are lacking like size, leadership, and morality. I know it's a down time, so I figured I'd throw this up there. What player if they only had a Tebow trait could have been became top players in the league. Quick examples off the top of my head, Jeff George with leadership, Doug Flutie with Size, or Hernandez with morality or whatever. This isn't because I am a Tebow fan. I saw an article about Strawberry wishing he was more like him. It just made me think of all the players that were missing one thing from being great.
