It was interesting to hear his post game comments. What I noticed mostly was he seems to have very little ego. He basically said "We made better play calls in the second half on O but even then it was up to Cutler to use his legs twice to get the job done." It's refreshing to hear something like that. I recall previous regimes falling over themselves to claim credit for plays that went well. In the long run it'll be interesting to see how well his personality fits into this world of huge dollars and huge egos called the NFL. His whole "I just asked them to be good teammates" bit seemed a little naive. But with that said, hell, sometimes simple truths are the be…

Is it any better than last year? 38% of Cutler's pass attempts to Marshall. Only thing missing is he did not force one to Brandon that resulted in a INT. I am far from disappointed what with one half of football, but I hope the second half produces differently for the offense. Cincy's defense is good, so credit to them but, wow underwhelming 1st half offense.

I understand quick reads and throws, even max protect and three step drops, but this offense appears to have emasculated Jay Cutler. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was Shane Matthews at QB. As we painfully learned when than moron Shoop was calling plays with crayons, the dink and dunk only works if the opponent respects the Bears' offense enough to worry about the intermediate and deep balls.

You know that whole Robbie Gould can't kick long field goals thing? 11 in a row over 50 yards tying an NFL record. 58 yarder - longest in Bears history. Not an issue anymore. Peace

Game winner thread. That was a huge win for the Bears. Big 11 point comeback. Big performance in the 2nd half. That was a really good team the Bears stood up and went blow for blow with.

So I'm looking for the Bears game today on DTV. I live on the west coast and I can't find it listed anywhere. The Raider game is on at 10 so that is the live game on Network TV. But I can't find it listed on the NFL package. What am I missing and does it show up on anyone who has DTV and lives outside of the Chicago market? I know they have a free preview this week. Bill

Watching the game highlights cuz I worked through the whole game, Inoticed the right side of the line was ravaging the Bengals. In every pass they showed on NFL network, Long handled atkins no problem and Mills was a beast with Malalugua . I think this tandem could be start of lots of time Cutler. Am I wrong?

I'm curious to hear how the majority of fans and AM radio guys in Chicago feel about Williams probably getting the nod over Bostic to start against the Bengals. I personally wanted the rookie out there to start and let Williams come in to spell him while he got his conditioning back a bit. How do you guys feel?

I'd assumed all along Wootton was the man but according to this article it hasn't been decided yet.

Before the games start to roll, I would just like to say, I really like what Emery is doing. He looks like he had a really good draft this year with 10 rookies finding spots on the team. Last years draft is still a big question mark, but with Lovie still around I suspect he influenced the draft quite a bit. If we get more contribute out of the ones left from that draft, it will be considered an decent draft. He is remaking the roster, and not afraid to get rid of people he drafted if they dont cut it. With DeAngelo, he would just hang on to them because he kept trying to prove there valve. He didnt jack with a defense although being old, is still productive, with adding…

I was not surprised to see Denver beat Baltimore soundly; Baltimore was lucky to win the SB IMO, they were high on the Ray Lewis retirement and won on adrenaline and luck....they are a good team but not SB material, certainly are in for a fall down this year. It was interesting to see the old Bear Corey Graham starting for them; I wish we could have kept him as I thought he was an excellent player for us and somehow was in Lovie's doghouse. What does everyone think of the game? Manning is quite the QB, they surely are going to the SB this year, at least the playoffs, very good looking team.

With Sunday approaching quickly, I'm curious as to type of offense and defense we will see heading into Game 1 against the Bengals. What I am expecting is to see the Bears come out in a wide variety of offensive formations to keep the defense on their heels. I expect to see a good chunk (maybe more-so later in the year) of the pistol, not in terms of the QB run, but in terms of play action passing. Martellus Bennett should be a huge factor if they choose to go that route, because the middle of the field will be wide open. I think we know by now that Matt Forte will become the focal point of the offense. I expect him to see a lot of touches as a runner and as a pass c…

I have had several requests to lock the Webb thread so that it will roll off the page and we can get onto more important issues, things like the 2013 Bears and trying to make the playoffs. If anyone has major objections I can open it back up. Hopefully we can bury this and move on.

The first and foremost factor will be health. With DJ Williams returning to practice and possibly starting, having rookie LBs Bostic and Greene serving as depth bodes well. Of course Williams health going forward will be a concern but Bostic receiving significant reps in the preseason is a plus.Right now this team is thin at the OL depth an CB depth and inexperienced at quite a few positions after the top 3 guys. DT,DE,CB,OL and QB. This seems to be a work in progress and I'm not sure that this isn't a calculated gamble on Emery's part. If Cutler suffers a freakish accident on the field like when he broke his finger against the Chargers a couple of years ago then th…

http://www.nfl.com/injuries This is clearly a good thing. The way training camp started, I recall being a little worried about this. Let's hope we stay reasonably healthy throughout the season!
