Bill Polian said today Marshall might catch 115 passes, and Cris Carter said that this is the best Marshall has looked since his junior year at UCF, mentally. Carter and him work out together in Florida in the offseason apparently.

Maybe a little bit premature, but the odds are out for week 1. The Bears are ten point favorites. Is that an indication of how good the Bears are going to be, how bad the Colts were, or both?

The Chicago Bears signed T Cory Brandon and CB Cornelius Brown. Brandon entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers out of Oklahoma in 2011. The 6-7, 324-pound offensive lineman spent the 2011 preseason with the Buccaneers appearing in all four preseason contests as a reserve tackle but was waived on September 3. Now we got Alshon jeffrey as i say the NO.2 WR on ther other side of Marshall we just went from having below average WR'S to possible top flight WR core. Also look at his yards after the catch, and who some of his catches were against (Kirpatrick,Barron Jennings )top draft picks. The Sporting News rated all positions(I didnt find QB yet), and here is where we stacked up. They only showed top 10 RB, Forte was 5th WR, Marshall was 5th QB, I didnt see that ranking, but know Cutler probably wont be listed in top 10 OL, I actually couldnt find any Bears listed, go figure DE, Peppers was #1 DT, nope OLB, Briggs was 7th MLB, Urlacher was 4th CB, nope. Lovie Smith was ranked as the 9th best coach in League.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but annually, I book a hotel in the Super Bowl city, and if (when) the Bears don't make it, I cancel 24 hours prior to and it doesn't cost me a thing. Of course, the only year I didn't was in 2006 when they did actually go. Anyhow, I found a La Quinta Suites in Slidell, (where ironically, Forte is from) which is about 25 miles from New Orleans, for only $119/night. If anyone is interested, I'd go that route. All of the other hotels are either sold out or $390+/night. This hotel also has all good reviews on Trip Advisor with the exception of 1 or 2 people.
